Well, I went to my best treestand location nested in a mountain about 3/4's a mile hike from the house. I got there well before light, set up scent on towel clothes 50 yards from my stand in different directions and set it up so that it led right under my stand, little did I know that when crossing the creek you have to cross to get to my stand... I lost my release! So when I realized what had happened it was getting light. I figured, well i'll take a shot under 15 yards. At 7:30 a MONSTER 3X3 came down the trail unaware me. I knew he was coming to an opening so I drew, he walked and stopped frontal at 5 yards! I would slip an arrow in with my release, but I wansn't confident in a frontal finger shooting. I waited, the buck kept smelling towels, now at 20 yards, I needed to undraw... He was stopping and I was going to try the shot once I took a second break then could draw again... However, as I was undrawing my fingers slipped and the arrow hit a rock breaking into 4 pieces, and the buck was gone! I RUINED WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MY ONLY CHANCE!
Anyway, thats my story.

Morgan.

For whatever reason, I am having a hard time logging into the new setup here. It keeps bumping me to guest status. Hope things are going well for everyone.

I am still here Oregon and nctaxi. I just posted on how I got pooped on by a nice 6 point this morning in the bowhunting forum. Oh well, that's why they call it hunting. Hope everyone else is still alive and hunting. Good luck to all.
