I was so disgusted I just left and the landowner or his son have never given me permission to talk to anyone, as I have asked several times, each year. I don't want to sound like an ass to them either so I let it go.

So today got even better. My Dad's coming out for an all day hunt tomorrow with me. With all the activity, I decided at lunch to spray down my clothes, and take a quick walk into mark a couple of trees just so I could get him there in the dark. Here's what I encountered.

1. The gas company working on a new right of way that was put in in Sept. Stopped and asked, they'll be there all week. Now it's on the very edge of the property but it is the funnel that gets them to my property.

2. A brand new ladder stand, sticking out like a sore thumb. Brand new shooting lanes cleared and everything.

3. So as I am standing there dumbfounded, I get a whiff of air and damn if theres not a doe feeding down the hillside. I hunkered down best I could and nocked an arrow. She fed to within 25yds of me and then picked me out (I was in the open as I didn't have any time to hide.) She eventually walked over the hill not alarmed, just knew something wasn't right.

4. A new scrape so fresh it didn't even have leaves in it and still had a damp spot in it.

so the good news is the deer are still there. the bad news is, I have no idea where to go.

Pops I feel your pain, the place I hunt has loggers in it until who knows when...this really wouldn't bother me except for this is the first year my 11 year old son is going deer hunting (gun) and I went out and bought him a new Remington 870 20ga. a plane ticket from Dallas,Tx toIL, a deer tag,and all new camo...I just hope it's not all screwed up, he is SO excited.

Just did that tonight when I got home, could only shoot out to 25 yards though, to dark and really kinda small back yard here in town.

Calling for chance of rain the whole time he is here....figures. But I have a tree umbrella thing, works pretty good as long as the wind isn't blowing real hard.

This is the lastest in the season I've ever been without at least a Doe to account for, just one of those years I guess.

Hey all I am heading out in the morning adn the weather should be perfect, but am yet to see any real rutting activity going on?? If any of you remember me talking about my treestand right on the outside of there bedding area, it has 4 new fresh scrapes within 80yrds on each side of it, so I will be trying to catch what is making them in the morning!!

Update tommorow!!! Whatever made them sure as to hell didnt feel like checking em tonight thats for sure!!! Good Luck fellows!

Hey guys, I am not lost I am still here, but things have been really busy lately. The season opens up here the 15th so I am going to be out there sittin in my gametammers.


I was lookin at the score sheet and I saw someone from this team got a buck. Who ever it was congrats! nice deer!

Scored on a decent 8 pt this am. I'm happy with it after my season. I'll post the whole story later. I scored him at 80". I'll post all the details later.

Looking forward to the story. I got sick Sunday evening so my filming session ended on a sour note. My father and brother in law will be out till Sunday so hopefully they crush something nice. If they do I will be sure to pass it along. Good look and look forward to wearing the champs crown next year.

If Pops scores him at an even 80" that should put us at 499 6/8"!! I am guesing Pops deer bigger then 80" even, I am comparing him to mine atleast and it looks larger but the tape measure dont lie I guess?? I wonder if he put a tape or if that was a guess?? Ohhhh we will find out soon enough!!!!

Thats 5 deer with an average of basically 100" per deer so if we all score, that'll put us around 1000"s which will win this thing every year!!!
