:)I had a great morning!!

I get to the woods way to late(im a sleepy head) this morning about 630 or so! I get to my ladder stand that is basically just insideof a thick, thick bedding area. My thinking is maybe they will be coming in to bed since it was a beautiful cold, bright nite to feed.
I get there and immediatelly have a deer blow at me[:@], never seen it but know it was my own damn fault for sleeping!! I get set-up andat about7:00 another deer behind me starts blowing for what seemed like 5 minutes...I never seen the deer?? I wasnt moving and there wasnt much wind so I am not sure what happened there , I just plain got BUSTED or maybe it wasnt even blowing at me???

Well by now I am getting a lil discouraged and then about 7:25 I catch movement out ahead of me and immediatelly see horn so I am up on the bow!! He continues to walk within 25 yrds heading tobed Iassume?Well he is a nice 8pt, looked just like the one I got the other day maybe a bit bigger? Anyhow I opted to let him walk and live another day..maybe he will actually survive the orange army??[&:]??

Well then about 8:00 I look to my left and there is a BIG 4pt 20yrds to my left standing in a wide open grass opening. I once again opted to let him walk!

Then about 8:20 or so I see another deer working the same path the 8pt came in on, and thought to myself..DOE... time to fill a tag!! Well turns out I was wrong, as it got closer it turned out to be a small 4pt!!:D

I didnt see anymore deer after that but am thrilled to be able to let all those deer walk as I can be picky now! I have let many spikes and 4pts walk in past years, but if I had not shot the buck I did the other day..the 8ptorthe BIG 4 pt would have been coming home with me! His(4pt) body and rack was just plain BIG?? DOnt know if thats a sign of a good buck on the rise or he is just an old deer with WESTERN MARYLAND ANTLER GENES?? If it was later in the year, or if my freezer was empty today may have been different on my decision!??

Either way it was another sucessful day for me this week, even if I did come home empty handed!!!

Hey sleepy head...Your just rubbing it in now aren't you? The first deer I seethat's 115" or bigger is getting launched on.

WesternMD, how many deer are you allowed? here in PA, it's one buck only. I can purchase a boat load of doe tags but opt not to.

Solo, great looking setup there (and family too.)

I'll have to post some pictures later tonight. Put up a ladder for my soon and I over the weekend.

Well I'm not getting out tonight some things at work came up no biggy though. Friday supposed to cool down a bit so maybe I'll wait til then.

I wouldnt ty to rub it in to ya, but it sure feels nice to be able to sit out there in the cool morning air perched in the tree just enjoying the view:D[8D]!!!

Pops~~ I am allowed 1 buck and 1 doe in my hometown county. I am allowed 2 bucks and 10does in the bordering county east of me where I shot the 8pt on the opener. If I were to go down further into southern MD its as many does as you can launch an arrow at, all day every day[&:]!!
I think with all seasons(rifle,muzz,and bow) I can legally kill something like 33 deer in my three surrounding Counties??!!!!!! Its insane.. I really wish Md would atleast make a 3 on one side rule or something!!

Be careful MD you gotta kill 2 does before you can kill you're second buck in region B, and then you gotta buy a bonus buck tag.

It is nice cause you can do this for each weapon, so in my region I can kill 3 bucks (gun, muzzleloader, bow) before I have to buy another buck tag. Its basically unlimited does as well..

Yeah Ed~~ I was aware that I had to kill two does before another buck in Washington County(region B) but was not aware that I had to peurchase another tag;)...Thanks for the warning!! Do you know how much that second tag costs?? Also i dont hunt this region too awaful much, do I have to kill two does before I can a BUCK with my rifle?? I may only get down to hunt Region B a couple more times before the rifle season, so it may be hard for me to fill my tags??

SO simply my question: Can I hunt the first day of Rifle in Region B for BUCK'S or do I have to fill my doe tags first???

I was hunting close to my house today in Allegany County(Region A) today and I can still get 1Buck and 1Doe with my bow tags...no option to buy anymore!!

NEVERMIND I just read your previous post and realize I can kill another buck in Rifle and or Muzz!! Im stupid...[&:]!!

This deer is the G2 Split deer from about a month ago then dissapered...UNTIL TONIGHT.
