I smell a little "team stacking".... That's okay, you have the half rack smacker on your team.
But Rob's half racks are bigger than some's full racks.;) I gotta feeling he is going to nail something huge this season.
I didn't mention Rob, hmmmmm, Cougar dis's his own teammate and then tries to cover it up in the same sentence.....:D

I guess I could have used a better choice of words:eek:. Not dissin him, just promoting him. His recent bucks have a lot of character and to be honest I haven't done much the last few years. So its his year and my year to shine:D. Of course with the lineup we have I feel very good about our chances!

Sweet... Hey Guys... I like the team! It's good to see some familiar faces. I'm anxious to see what our team can do!... seems like season can't get here fast enough

A little about me... My name is Joey & i'm 26. The biggest aspect of my hunting season this fall will me my close proximaty to my hunting areas. For the past 7 years I've been living 2.5 - 3 hrs away... but after my wife & I moved, we're now 10-25 minutes away. So it'll open up a lot of time for us to hunt. I plan on hunting every weekend, and most of the weekdays (evenings), until I can get a buck.

So far i've been seeing an excellent crop of bucks... without about a dozen bucks in the 120-170 range on camera. There are some good crops planted on the key fields I hunt, so I'm pretty stoked for season!

If nothing else, this team is going to have one hell of a time busting chops and telling stories in our thread. We are going to have so much traffic we are going to need a stop light.

Joey,
Glad to hear the good news about being close to your spots, that’s got to help a ton.

Welcome aboard Joey. I remember some of your past deer...that one in the avatar is an absolute stud!

Ryan, what engineering field are you in?

Mauser, are you hunting in or around your new house, or are you sticking to your old properties this year? I remember you made mention of finding some good sign near your new house last year.

man i couldnt imagine having to travely 2.5-3hrs to hunt....heck, my new house we moved to during the RUTT last season, i can walk out my back door and hunt...will do so a time or 2 though the area somewhat stinks....between kids, atvs and dirtbikes, and 100 other "hunters" its rough...but available...man i couldnt imagine that drive....i will rarely drive over an hour to a coon hunting competition!

joey...how bout one like the one in your avatar??? i remember that bad boy....that'll carry my 60"er well if im so lucky :D hopefully the biggun comes by and i can let the air outta him first coz i have a feeling im still trigger happy...though id LIKE to hold out for a little nicer buck than barely legal....for my own sake....you can learn more from hunting than shooting the first legal buck....i KNOW that...chances are 50/50...if i know i'll have solid hunting time, i may hold out a bit...we'll see....i dont know till im at full draw

Matt,
My degree is in chemical, but I’ve dabbled in various industries. Circuitboards, water treatment, aluminum & steel industry, power plants.
It pays the bills, but I don’t find it very interesting anymore.

Wow, impressive. I have a friend who graduated from Bucknell with a Chemical Engineering degree. He went to law school though afterwards.

Well, guys, I had three days of inservice this week, and now two days off, so I'm going to go shoot some, and probably plant my rye/winter wheat.

BTW Team 15, this guy has some monsters around him and he knows how to hunt them. Y'all are lucky to have him.

haha Germ and DM are right...i'll try to keep it more to the point this year...but i dont make promises:D

Matt, yes, i found a HECK of a rubline last year behind my new house...ive been hunting back there for years...well, alot of walking around/scouting before i could hunt alone(my old house...2 houses back... was 2 blocks away from the same set of woods just a different end of the wood lot..) killed my first longbeard back there...i bow hunted it once or twice last season...got permission to hunt in an orchard across the road from me but they seem to be using that at night heavy...the woods got a pile of guys that hunt it after work and such...the rubs i found were HUGE and the rubline was long...it was almost stupid how easy i could follow the rubline...they werent close together....it was just classic big buck movement...cutting corners...cutting the point...staying on the edge of the thickets...lead to the next ditch over from mine which is nasty thick...thats his bedding...thing that throws me off in PA is ANYTHING and EVERYthing is a food source...dont know that i'll devote a ton f time back there...i know a couple crews pushed it out in rifle season....we could be dead...time will tell...i coon hunted back there this winter and didnt find any tracks that turned my head like his should have...but if im busy a day durning the rutt and got a morning or evening to hunt, i got stand sites i can be in 10 minutes or so for a quicky and still have an alright chance of seeing something...

im shooting pretty well for not shooting in about 4 months...got all my gear out...walked outside...got myself as excited as i could picturing a big boy in the woods...drew...told myself i had 1 arrow...sent it home...beautiful 20yd shot...put the bow down and came inside for 10 minutes...then went and proceeded to shoot for a bit...still tire out quick but i'll get there...no fear...i dont shoot over 25 in the woods...got no fear about a 25yd shot even right NOW...let alone in a couple weeks when im really on

Don't change orhold outfor the contest. Shoot what you normally would. A dead 100" buck scores more points than an unfilled tag waiting on a 150"

I just realized we have the Gold & Bronze medalists from the NE GTG, a future LEO/game warden, a guy who makes his own hunting videos, a school teacher, and the guy who runs the broad success thread…..We are impressive. Sorry that I don’t know more about the other guys to include their fine qualities in our resume. Hopefully that will change soon. :D

Lol, My Little Pony (that should be their new name);)

Just an update. Decided to wait on the planting today after talking it over with my dad. We have the sections raked and turned over, but we're waiting for some potential rain in the future forecast to time our planting. We also located a nice 26lb bag of Whitetail Institute Winter Pea/Brassica mix we're going to put down with some winter wheat mixed in. I did manage to make up a new drag, though since we don't have a soil compacter. So when it's all said and done (assuming we get ample rainfall), I should have a nice .75+ acre plot with clover/rye in the middle, and winter wheat, peas, and brassicas along the outside. That should provide enough fall/early winter forage.
