i see we got a vote for the name! i love it!!

now....who can make a sweet avatar?? that is one area of computers that i completely lack...with the team name, im not even sure on what direction to go....its on my mind...i'll ponder it while im at the competition hunt tonite...

shot well this eveing....i need to get to my buddies and stretch it out though...my new back yard is like 18yds or so...stinks...worse comes to worse i got acres and acres of woods behind the house...tape measure, target and bow....i'll stretch er out! just a pain in the butt hiking the hill with the target...but, i wont shoot deer past 25yds anyway....so if i dont get to do my 50 and 60yd shooting, so be it...i can probably rough the pins pretty close by going from my old sight now that im thinking about it...save me some time...i still get fatigued quickly...20 arrows or so and i start loosing it...

see ya'll late tonite or tomorrow ;) time to go tree some coons and listen to the greatest music there is!

Well I put out some apples and one of Ben's cameras to see if I can get a good pic of that buck that came by my house 2 mornings in a row. This morning I saw the spike he travels with but the spike was alone. Figures too, he hung around all morning.

If ya'll haven't see him, this is the best I could pull off my video. He's either a 5 x 3 or 5 x 4. His out beyond his ears as well from live views.

I see we have a team name now, sounds good. I spent the day driving up to Binghamton for the weekend to be with my fiance who is on rotations. Not sure how much I will get to post this weekend, but I can work on an avatar this coming week if that's good with everyone.

Itold you ROBOCOP was hunting some monsters!!! Freaking ROBO, if he would have killed one half the size of those whoppers last year we would have been right there 2 years in a row[:@]That's it, I don't care if I come in second to last, at least this team will finish behind Team 4! First ROBOCOP (BTW Dennis deerhntr178 is dead to me and you are now ROBOCOP) shows you all more trail cam photos in 2 days than I got to see from him in 2 years. Secondly, Rob robbed (yeah, I know weird huh) me of 1/8 of an inch on my buck last year in the official score sheet!

Revenge will be mine boys. Oh yes, revenge will be mine.

GR8,

Elowapi, III 19. Hunting manly, Eli, intensive, best or most, and api, man or wapi, knowing.

Elowichik, Hunters, allowing to hunt, let us go hunting.

Really depends on which translation one picks. Both are correct.

well, that may have been one of the most boring coon hunts ive been on....3 dogs in the cast we were out with...2hr hunt and we only cut loose twice...all i got to hear was boohooohooooo only 1 coon scored...we need some rain...hopefully before bowseason starts...if we dont get it before bow season starts, my buddy might get a crack at the biggun living on my hill if he hunts his stand down in the creek bottom...but, first morning chances are probably better that hes already on my hill and not going to cross fields to get to water in the daylight...it is DRY out there....

toe held up real well...actually looks better now than it did before i left....maybe the tape healed it? lol

time for bed....maybe work on my 2nd pin tomorrow...think theres a nice 3d shoot next weekend id like to goto...dont know if i can hold up for 30 shots and then shoot the fun shoots after the 3d...last year they had some 60yd tickets...pay to shoot and win whatever the ticket # goes to...a 60yd 3" bull that sets off a cannon and if you set it off you get put in a drawing for a nice prize, and a 67yd 3" bull that puts you in another raffle and 20yd floating pong balls

RE: Official Team 15 Thread

rob, we coonhunt where we deer hunt...not so much in my "honey hole" but occassionally...

i can say we do alot of disturbing...dogs, couple guys, lights, talking, trucks, etc....our dogs better not chase a deer...

i dont think we disturb them much at all...one night me and my buddy walked by a couple does bedded on the edge of a powerline in some grapevines...dog ran past them tracking and was treed on the other hillside screamin his head off...we went down..shot the coon out...came back, does STILL bedded there...we shined them on the way down and were less than 20yds away talking when we spotted them...they never moved....

walked by many bucks in cornfields and such that never cared....

yes, we add scent and im sure we do SOME disturbing....but, i dont think it has a huge impact...were not chasing or harassing the deer in any way really...they see us, hear us, smell us etc...but were not a "bother" or worry to them really is my guess....

captains log 8/23/08 ;)

got my 2nd pin roughed in finally...only thing is...im not sure of the yardage lol. it "should" be right around 30...but dang does it look closer to 40...i lugged my bag target outside the fence, and up the hillside into the woods on a flat(more hillside with nothing but woods behind it..) shooting slightly uphill...dont know if its the bright, open yard shooting into dark woods or what...but it looks farther than it is...but BOY i love my Viper! i was fatigued and still shooting better than i expected...

Rob, maybe you can help...ive never shot a sight with an extension before...i got the ole truglo out and lined up my Viper pins to match the gap that my truglo had...i found out real quick that i need to go a good couple hairs lower with my 2nd pin than i did on the truglo....would the extention have any play in that?? possibly was shooting farther than 30...gotta get to my buddies field where i have yardages all marked off...or borrow my buddies range finder and range my bag on my hillside...

just think that the bag should be right about 30yds...i had to move the 2nd pin a good bit lower than it was on my truglo...find out next weekend when i can get to my buddies....was heading there today, but silly captain, i left my dome lights on after the coonhunt last night...2am dead tired i usually leave them on...dad has the jumper cables in his truck and he was working...so i was stranded here at home

The extension would make you have a bit more pin gap.

Read the thread young man. ;) :D

captn Mauser,

the farther you put your pins away from the bow, the more the pin gap will grow which will give you the most accuracy. Thank about the ultimate sight, it would stretch from you to the target and you could put your pin right on the target itself. Now, the difference would be if you used your 20 yard pin for a 30 yard target, how much would your arrow drop? That would be your pin gap.
