Way to go Jim, looks like some tasty backstraps for dinner.

Was going to head outthis morning. Did a little practice session just before darklast night and had the cable slid snap in two. So much for this mornings hunt, had to head to the bow shop after he got in from hunting.

I feel a cold comming on;) so I think I will head over to PA mid week torecuperate.:DShouldbe interestingwith the early muzzy open this week.

Forget that, you all are lucky that you can choose just about any day to go out and hunt in any way, shape or form. I'm from Miami, FL. I have to make plans waaaay ahead of time to go hunting, and drive for several hours to find a place to do it.

As soon as my daughter graduates from high school I'm moving North.

Well I got to the range Wednesday and got my new T/C dialed in. The muzzy is shooting 2" groups if I do my part and the 06 barrel in just a smidge better. Got both at 1" high at 100yds. I need some range time and mabye a little trigger work to shrink them a little more. Either way I can hit what I am aiming at. :)Looks like I will be selling my 06 Handi since it will just be taking up room in the safe

Went from2777 pellets to 100 grains ofBlackhorn, boy is that stuff nice to shoot. A dozen rounds with no patching between shots, noproblem loadingand 2 wet patches followed by 3 dry when I was done. All clean. Breech plug is much cleaner after shooting Blackhorn than with 777. To say the least I am sold on this stuff.

Got out bowhunting today, did not see a thing. The farmer just cut a load of corn yesterday so I am hoping that will help stir things up a bit.

How are things shaping up for the rest of you?

ihad a bow shoot this weekend. we shot outside before the weather started turning bad. well as i was shooting out of the corner of my eye i saw a decent sized buck in the field across the road. to bad i wasnt hunting because we know the guy who owns that field. i had my backtag and my hunting stuff in the back of the truck. i hope that buck sticks around for awhile

Haven't been on for a while for I've been out in the bush working hard. Lots of does but with the season just opening and one in the freezer alreadyI've decided to give it some time. Was in the deep stuff this weekend but we got hit Sat. and Sun. by some real poopy weather. Rain, sleat, and winds up to 60 km (or about 48 mph). Not much moving after seeing many does earlier in the week. I picked up an extra doe tag so will be heading out again this weekend.

i dont have school friday or monday so ill be out hunting friday, saturday, sunday and monday. the ruts just kicking in here so it should be an awesome hunt

There is also a thread about alternates. I have emailed and pmed this person numerously with no response so I will put in for an alternate for him.

He was just on here yesterday too. I pmed him again. Hopefully he will show up.

You guys think I should put in for alternate today or Give him a cople of more days?

I haven't been on in a while. I got a doe and a six point with the bow. My ML'er season begins tomorrow in Virginia. I haven't seen much action though since last Wednesday when I got my buck. Hopefully things will be picking up soon.

I have pics, but can't post them. All the hosting sites are blocked when I'm at work and at home, since I live in the sticks, I have dial up and it times out. I can email them if someone is willing to host it for me. Let me know if I can email them to someone.

As to entering it in the contest, I thought bow kills weren't eligible for the firearms contest?

Well guys just getting alittle frustrated with one week to go in my ML season. Passed on a couple of does and a calf early and spent the weekend chasing a big boy only to loose him on a wind swirl. It was exciting for 4 hours in the thick bush chasing him though. Heading out Tues. night but with daylight savings time here will only have just over an hour. A big problem here is that the deer were just starting to move at the end of last week and then we have gotten 3 days of record high temps. It was about 70 degrees here today (new record for this day in Nov.) where our normal temp. for this day is usually in the 40's. The only good news is that the weather is really going to drop for the weekend (20 for the weekend andzero for the first day of rifle on Monday). That should get them moving again. I've Sat to Tues off for hunting so I hope I will be able to produce. Hope all is well with everyone and best of luck to all.

WELL TEAM THE RIFLE SEASON HERE IN KENTUCKY GETS UNDERWAY SATURDAY THE 8TH AND WILL LAST THROUGH THE 23RD ...KIND OF A SHORT SEASON HERE IN THE BLUEGRASS STATE BUT OLE dd WILL DO HIS BEST TO DOWN ONE FOR THE TEAM ... Check it out guys. Got a call from a buddy of mine and today in my hunting area the big bucks are starting to move out to chase the younger bucks from the does plus with the big cold front moving through the weekend should be great. Was able to take Monday off of work and Tues is our day of rememberance (like your memmorial day-so no work and what a better place to give rememberance than in the big, free, open, beautiful Canadian wilderness...and early thanks to all those that have given the ultimate sacrafice and to all those who still wear the uniform so that I can enjoy everything that I have). So I'll have the last 2 days of ML and the first 2 days of rifle to try to post some numbers. Can you say pumped!!!!
