Rybo, nevermind my post and my pm to you about the ongoing fight in the contest. Seems some people cussed each other out ( I was not involved ). After seeing that happen I do not think I will participate next year.

P.S Still waiting on taxi to be available so I can go score my deer. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Hey guys, i havent been out all that much lately. Muzzleloader season started up today, ill be hunting with my bow though. Just need this rain to pass. Went out sat afternoon and saw a spike and some does. On friday i went to scout another property that i have. I havent been on one section of this property so i went in to check it out. WOW, sign everywhere. Scrapes, rubs, trails, you name it, its there. Ill be hanging a stand there tomorrow and hunting it, i cant wait.

Hope all you guys are doing good.

Our gun season opened today. I had planned on still taking my bow, but it was a pretty good washout with rain. SoI took my 44 mag revolver. Honestly I can probably shoot my bow better. [8D]
Anyways, I took a doe and got soaked to the bone. I had deer moving everywhere the 1st hour. I passed a couple real early shots, thinking a buck was lagging behind this doe, but (it) never emerged for me to see. Then when I decided to take the next doe, they didn't want to cooperate and give me a good shot. Finally the 15th deer I saw stopped in an opening about 20 yds and bam. I hunted the evening with my Dad, but didn't see anymore deer.
I'm exhausted and will be lucky to make it thru the 1st quarter of the steeler game. [&:]

Rybo, great work on the doe. Im going to start hunting them again here soon, our rutt is more or less done, hopefully there will be a second rutt, but we will see. Im going back out tonight to the stand where i shot my buck. Hopefully the big one i had the opportunity on will decide to show up. Either way it should be a perfect night. The small patch of woods that i hunt has no pressure on it other than me, and the woods surrounding me have people running all over in them getting stands up now for shotgun season which starts on monday. hopefully the deer have been driven onto my property and are now calling it home.

Hey team, whats the good word? Anyone been out and seen anything. The last couple times i have been out has been extremely slow, actually havent seen a deer on my last 2 hunts. Saw 7 doe the hunt before that. Gun season started sat, so this week is basically shot. Hoep you all are doing well.

Hey guys, been hunting my butt off for the past 3 weeks. No luck yet, but I have seen some good bucks. Had a 130 10pt come in 2 weeks ago, but wouldn't come any closer than 45 yds. Some of you may be able to pull that shot off, but I didn't feel confident with the shot. Gun season was last week and I have this weekend to get out before the extra two days of gun season on the 15th and 16th. Any of you had any luck hunting after your past firearms seasons? I've got until Feb. with the bow, so hopefully I can fill my buck tagby then. What is the best way to hunt bucks after the rut and the pressure of the firearms season's?

Things have really slowed here in IL since the gun seasons. We were able to put a thumping on the doe population on our lease. The big boys are locked up. Biggest buck we've seen since November 15th is a 125 in. 8pt. Gonna give them a few weeks to calm back down, then get back after it around Christmas.

Our last day of gun season is this saturday. I will be trying to whacka doe in units I still have tags for. Next chance I get to take the bow out won't be until after Xmas when our late season comes in.
I'm not putting much faith during that time though. They've been driving my hunting grounds almost daily for 2 weeks. [:@]:([:'(]

We got our first snow today. Not much, but enough for a lite covering on the ground and enough to make me get out and hunt.
I knew something was wrong when I walked into the woods...that only myself and one other guy have permission to hunt...and saw red surveyor's tape on a bunch of trees. I followed the trail for a short time when the scent of death hit me. I looked around and saw the body of a very nice sized deer laying there. The entire deer was there...except for the head...which had been cut off and the rest of the deer left alone. By the size of the body it looked to be a pretty good size buck.
This was less than 100 yards from where I shot my buck last month. I'm sick about it and pizzed beyond words.
I was really surprised that the varmits have did not take care of the rest of the deer. This thing was whole (except the head) with no sign of varmits at all. However, the butt was full of maggots.
Needless to say, it sort of spoiled my afternoon in the woods.
