RL-

I can feel that dissapointment, as I've been there too. Sounds like you may have just clipped him. Them buggers are tough, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

I've seen video where a bear had to be shooed off a tree after climbing up near the treestand. I bet your footage is awesome! Sounds like a great hunt overall.

Well, I start hunting in 6 days. Still don't have much for pictures of nice bucks, but there are deer everywhere. While changing the batteries in the camera yestarday a doe and fawn came walking out of the brush 15 yards away from me. that was at 4:30 in the afternoon. I also kicked up some more deer on the way to the cam. I'm camping at the land and hunting all weekend. Can't wait!!

I'm having surgery in the next couple weeks, so I have to close the deal fairlysoon. i'll be shooting anything bigger then a forkhorn. Then, I'll be on some serious weight restrictions for the next 6 weeks (I think??) and, I'll be wearing a stinking neck brace. That kind of sqrews over my archery season.

Update - My surgery is scheduled for 10/3 (My34th birthday of all days). That gives meroughly3 weeks.

this time tomorrow I'll be in the woods getting ready for the morning hunt. Actually, I'll probably be in the stand bear hunting. Dang I hope I at least get a doe on the ground this weekend. The last time I checked the camera by my stand there were pictures of deer 13 days in a row between daylight and 9 am. So, I'm confident. It'sa good funnel area.

Well, it was certainly good to be back up a tree again! Cold morning Sat saw one deer moving through the brush at 7:30 am and thats it. Evening I counted 11 deer but none in range or at least shootable. Had 4 move past at 25yds but quartering to and then in the brush. Sun morning 4 does. Only saw one buck over the weekend but a multitude of does, I know where the boys will be come Nov.
