I took the 10pt. with the bow at 2:00and the 9pt. with the gun at 8:00 earlier that day. There a lot bigger ones around. This was the crazest day of hunting in my life.

I was hunting in SE MN. I will have the official score soon. Both deer are at the taxidermist. I just got off the phone with my dad. There is a 8pt. with a 20 or so inch spread and a 12 to 14pt. with an even big spread. I'm not going to be able to hunt until muzzleloader season, which starts in a few weeks.

Way to go that is great !

Today I get to hunt some odd hours With work and babysitting I get out when I can. This time of the year any time in the woods should be good I am going out from 10 till about 430 (it is the time permitted for the day I ll take it) I have had so many different bucks show up out of this one stand. It has been alot of fun I just can t seal the deal. Progress report later this afternoon.

Here is a pic of the 9pt. I wish I would have taken a picture with just the 9pt. He is a great deer but all of my excitment went into the 10 pt.and of course the one that got away.

Nice bucks Peter! Cant wait for the scoring. I really should try to keep my brain off of hunting or i am not going to be able to sleep for awhile. My bad luck in getting the deer I want to come into bow range is killing me! I have seen 3 bucks over 140 in the past week with no shots. Today alone i saw 12 bucks. lots of little ones. [&:]

Last night I had another dream about the big one I missed. The worst is knowing that I won't be out hunting until the 24th. I just got a call a highschool friend shot a 193" monster "shotgun". I will get the picture as soon as I can, but it might be a few weeks. Another buddy shot 130" 8pt. near Park Rapids, MN. I don't know the hunter but my dad said someoneshot a 10pt. on theland next to uswith a 26" spread, short tines only 4 or 5 inches tall. Still cool!

I can't take it. My dad has called three times this week. The monster that I missed has been out in the picked cornfield everyday. This morning he was with 8 does and fawns. He had his nose to the ground and was running all over. All my dad can do is watch because his tag is not good until the 17th. This pig will go 160" for sure. I haven't got the score on my deer, the taxidermist is working for an outfitter but as soon as he gets home he is going to e-mail me the score sheet.

I'm down to, this afternoon, mon, and tues for the area I have been hunting, then gun season opens, andthe state of CTboots the bowhunters off the state gun huntingland for 30 days! I can still hunt till Dec 31, but the closestspot,that allowsarchery, is about an hour away!
I haven't even filled my freezer yet, so my standards are dropping fast! I've had chances at a 1.5 spike, a 1.5 fork, and the 3.5 half rack 4pt, and a couple fawns! I don't know if they will get the free pass next week!

Hey Vikes, I hear ya! I still havnt filled my freezer either. I have until December 31st, but the 2 weekends around Thanksgiving are out for me, and onceChristmas hits, I am pretty much done. I have all this weekend, and next weekend to hunt, but I am sure not seeing much action. I sure wish the wind would change from a South wind to a North wind.

Just got word from the "TheCastle" back in MN, the gang took 11 deer the first week of MNgun season! My little brother got a 240# 10 point with 24" inside spread!I can't wait to see some pictures of it!! Probabaly not until after season, but I'll post em when I get em!!

Just bought ticket to head back to MN for the holidays! I'm bringing my bow!
It's late Dec(19-29), but ya never know! Iknow the deer in my back yard at the shack better than anywhere, and I told my brother toscout me a bruiser,so I think my chances are good!!I'll be able to make it out at least a few days!

I can't wait, it's been a few years since I bowhunted hunted in MN!

If you have any extra time on your hands you should check out www.magnumsports.com it is a website for a local regestration station where I hunt in SE MN. There our some very nice deer most ofwhich were taken in the area. There are a couple of megagiants that were harvested by people that hunt very close to me.

I decided I am going to go hunting. I would still like to take one more doe with the bow. Our family of four will eat about 2 to 3 deer a year, so nothing gets wasted.

Well guys, I am just bumbed. I shot a nice 7 point Thursday afternoon at 2:30, but I think hew lived to see another day. Something went wrong when I shot, and I ended up hitting him in hte left hip bone, only got 4" of penetration. Time is running out for me fast. Went out this morning, and I will be going out this evening, but unless I have the chance at a slam dunk shot, I wont be taking any, becouse I have to get up early in the morning and drive to North Dakota to pick up my son. He will be here for a week over Thanksgiving, so next weekend will probably be out for me too, I will have to take him back on Sunday. Then the next weekend is my wifes work Christmas party, so I will hunt saturday morning, and Sunday evening.And then throw in a day or two for Cristmas shopping, that dont leave but 6 or so more sits for me.[:@]

Come on Peter, lets get that deer of yours in the score card!!! How much tiime do you all have left to hunt?

Hello teamates I just returned from a hunting honeymoon in Illinois.Where I found us some points to add to the score board. i just wanted to check in and see how all where going. the deer isnt the biggest but its points. I will post story in a bit I am back to work now Errrrhhhhh!!!

The Mrs and myself where on a hunting honeymoon at coopers creek outfitters. It was a ruff week in Illinois we had wind all week 15-40 mph at any given time. The deer activity was at a minimum to say the least. Iwas on stand for 5 days sun up till down (long windy days). On the last day at 148 a buck came from behind me at 60 yrds right into my wind. he never came close enough, later that afternoon at 3pm he showed back up with a doe even further away EEEERRRHHHhh! Then at 343 pm I heara rustling in the timber up over the ridge comes this 8 pt with the doe following him. Hummm who wears the pants there. I really was laxed because I had turkey all day long make the same racket. The deer where headed out to a cut corn field I was set up off of. The deer walked a straight line at 31 yards but stopped to stare at me. I hit everything in my treestand that would make a noise the bow hanger the stand my range finder. The bottom line was broad side shot at 31 yards. the deer made a 300 yard NASCAR circle and died 50 yards from the stand. It was a long slow search the shot was further back then I would have liked (I hit a twig that I didnt see) we had good blood in the begining but it vanished after 75 yards. It wasnt the biggest deer but the activity was slow and we need points on the board.

Hey everyone

Sorry it took so long. I went back to my dad's this last weekend. I stopped at the taxidermist and we got him measured. It scored more than we both thought 144/58 I have him on the board so it should be offical soon. I also went hunting this last weekend. I got to see the pig again he ran passed my stand at about 45 yards. He is a true monster should score around 160 to 170. I shot a doe on Sunday morning. It has been an amazing year. The next and most likely that last hunt for me will be the second weekend of Dec.(muzzleloader)

PA archery is done now until after Christmas. Our 2 week rifle season starts the Monday after Thanksgiving and you could hunt with a bow.

My season ended on October 31st:D

Sorry I havent been on here fellas. We bought a new home(and more hunting ground)and things have been busy. My season goes until Feb so hopefully Iwill get some late season hunts in and toss in a rack. Good luck and ttyl.
