I won't shoot him now. I feel after six weeks of bow season and two weeks of rifle he gets a free ride till next season. I will keep an eye on him and learn all I can, shed hunting I find invaluable at patterning a buck,if I can find his I will be as happy as if I shot him.
This corn thing is why I am so adamantly against baiting, one week of corn & I could set up 200 yds away and smack him tonight, its just not right and the deer deserve more. He is a great buck for my area and apparently by not killing all of my doe I have made him quite content to live here ,at least for a while.
If any of you are interested in my property PM me and I will give you the area to look at on goggle earth.

Well I watched the buck for about an hour last night,I,m thinking 3.5 year old ,doesn't have much belly. g2's &g3's are both about 9-10 inches g4's are short3.5-4.5 maybe. His spread is impressive, 1.5 - 2.0 inches on each of the inside past his ears.
I am working on pics.
This buck next year will be a slammer.

I love owls too.. We had aMounted Great Horned Owl when I was a kid. (actually we had 2 one might still be on display at the Pittsburgh Zoo) Yeah it was illegal then too...hence the display, long story. (Bare in mind as a Youngster Dad didn't have anyone to teach him how or what to hunt, different times indeed!)

Thats a good thing that, that big old buck don't have a belly..it means he was run ragged during the rut!
Man I'd love to keep this team together for next year!
