I'm heading out early for the 4.5 hr drive to the prospective new lease to get set up. Tx hill country, not known for huge racks down south, but if they get some age on them it can happen.

I put my camera out on my new lease and will pull the card 2 weeks from now when I go back up.

I'm looking to hunt slickheads this weekend at my East Texas lease. Maybe a buck will stumble my way.

Went out tonight and had a doe walk right past me. She couldnt have been 20 yards and I just couldn't let the arrow go I dont know what happen. I really thought I didnt have a good shot but the more I replay it in my mind the more I realize I could have gotten it done. It sucks so close yet so far. I did just get permission to hunt some private land today. The land owner says that there are 2 big bucks on his land, he says one has at least 10" brow tines. They took one off of his land 3 years ago that scored 190 inches. I hope if one of these big boys comes my way I dont freeze up.

The buck he sees is a city deer he wants them all gone cause they eat all of his flowers and garden.

Sorry fellas, I've been trying to get out but now I have a truckload of stuff to move to the new house. After the 25th I should be getting out more. I will try to hit CT once or twice more before gun season kicks in.

I saw my first buck of the year today, He ws heading right at me and then at about 50 yards he turned, but I now know where he is coming from so I can set up the ambush on him.
