Nice buck AP. We just keep piling them on. Youand mauser haveset the bar high with your first bucks with a bow. I had to whack a bunch of dinks before I started shooting deer of that caliber. I think between the 2 of you we have added another 110-120 inches to our score.

Got out once this weekend on Saturday morning had a very nice 10pt at about 30 yards on wrong side of fence [:@]. He was crossing the bean field headed straight for me got 30 yards out stopped and milled around a bit then just went straight eastfrom there. He just stopped and turned for a minute when I gave him a few grunts.

most likely have the score friday or saturday. really hoping the butcher has the meat done. i stored the head and cape in his meat locker. nice guy to let me do that. i just had nowhere to put it for a week while i was at school. either way i am most likely picking up the head and cape friday. i want to show him off at home, get him scored and get him to the taxidermist.

i still cant believe i did it! been a good year for me. double bearded longbeard in the spring and a bow buck!

im gunna be grinning ear to ear for a while....

I hope to go out and try to stalk some muleys i have seen one that is a 5x5 160 he would look good on my wall;);):D

if i dont get one then back in the tree i hope with this cold snap the bucks will start to get to rut'n even if the are not then it will not be long

yep...still havent scored mine yet. hopefully friday or saturday i can have it posted. really have no idea what it might score...im going to guess about 60...but thats just judging by buck magnets buck. we will see...

lol..........if buck magnets is 57 yours is 100 [8D] You should be right around that mark. Let us knwo and get those posted . We are in first place but maybe not for long with the stacked teams hitting the rut, like reverse the curse, damn all but one of there guys is fronm the mid west and the one that is not is my buddy Matt and he smoked that huge 150 in PA so who knows what will happen with that team.

Sat at my dads tonight for the first time this year. It waswindy and raining didn't see anything. Got home and my Alpha Hand Climber was waiting at the door for me though so that was cool.

Only after I shoot a buck does this happen. I had three deer, all bucks, at my ground blind this am.Only one legal shooter here in Pa.I had onelong spike, a three point and arespectable 8pt. probablyscore around80-90 " nnice body. But no Does. that is all I have is doe tags. what the heck. Like I said this only happens after I shoot a buck.

lol kidd...thats some luck...

i actually never saw a doe this season. did see 2 unidentified deer though. saw 5 bucks. 2 legal for sure, 1 was iffy, and 1 wasnt legal..1 was a racker buck but i couldnt tell and he snuck through the hemlocks..

i got 4 doe tags...i dont know if i will try to fill any or not. for living in a special reg area, youd think id have easy pickins...but i dont. we are a tiny portion where you can rifle hunt. man it took a toll on our doe herd. i got a couple so-so spots that i dont buck hunt i may hunt, if i find time...and my professor wanted doe hunters last season..i got a tag for her area this year to hunt another spot which turned out to be a dud..so i may ask her if i can go over.

really, i couldnt have tagged mine at a better time...with the move and all that coming REAL quick..i dont know if i would had too much more time to hunt at home. id like to get 1 more with the bow this year..better talk to that professor this week...i know dad will have my buck eaten in a couple weeks lol...we all of about finished 4 deer by spring gobbler season one year!

well guys, hes scored...looks like he scored 58 6/8 unless i screwed up...i never scored a buck before...youd think a college kid could follow directions...but we will see;)

hope someone informs me soon...i want him at the taxidermist ASAP. want mine ahead of all the ones that roll in the next couple weeks with the rut heating up...just called, noone answered..try again in a little while. i know he works a day job..

keep at it boys...that puts us aroun 350ish for 4 guys...we need a couple more bruisers to bump up our average! mine might not scored well, but in my eyes, hes BIGGER than Matts AND Franks combined...and thats what matters!!

dont worry...ole mauser will still check in pretty often...someone gotta keep the team post alive...seems some guys disappeared on us...but those are the guys that usually check in bruisers;)

Made it out tonight +20mph winds. Seen 8 deer tonight no bucks, one of the does was probably the biggest I've ever seen big'ol sow. I'll be going out in the morning too.

I went out this morning seen 7 deer. 2 does, 2 fawns and 1 little basket buck and 2 unidentified deer too far away. I'll be back out tomorrow morning I have a wedding tonight can't hunt.[:@]

Mauser, you can get the antlers from the taxidermist he doesnot need them until he is ready to mount the rack so take him to the Taxi and have him skull cap it for you and you should be good to go. Get your score posted officially on the scoring page any questions e-mail Rob / Pa bowyer.

my score IS posted...did ya miss it?? or am i the one thats confused? lol

i scored him yesterday right before i took him to the taxi. i had no freezer room so i had to rush..got home, showed him off, measure him..and off i went..i had im in the freezer for a little while, but i couldnt leave him in there super long..grama would have a fit if she opened the freezer and opened the bag to see a deer staring back at her! lol..

but hes posted...i made an error..Rob already fixed it... 64 2/8ths

gunna be a lonnnnng 6 months or so till i get my hands back on them antlers....i better go kill some other critters so i have a reason to keep visiting the taxi ;)

What am I missing!? :DYour taxidermist does NOT need to keep the antlers. GO GET THEM. Keep them hug them sleep with and play with them. ;)
He only needs them down the road when he is getting ready to finish the mount after the cape is back from being tanned.

lol iiii gotcha guys now.

i take it you both have your racks in your possession and fondel them every night before bed?? i never thought of that. i could do that if i really wanted...but with the move and all that going on, its SAFER at the taxidermists house.

thats one thing i hate to move is my antlers, turkey fans and beards, grouse fans etc...i actually make a special trip with JUST that stuff in my truck...noone else touches them lol...call me anal...but thats how i am.

ask the skull mount i did for my 2nd buck a while back. i mounted that sucker on the wall..it wasnt going ANYWHERE. gave it the door slam test..still wouldnt budge. came home from college to find 100000 pieces of it. now i got a skull cap with antlers on it. dont ask me how that happend..id still like to know.

i will actually be out to the taxis a couple more times anyways. we are most likely modifying the form i picked out. im going to tell him to call me when it comes in and i will go out and see what it looks like. its the concept and idea i want...closest form there is..but i think we may do a litttttle modifying.

its going on a new mckenzie form..it has an offset shoulder so the shoulder is going to be alot more there instead of the typical ending at the brisket. and its a left turn semi sneak but its got a lowered head. i might have him lower the head a touch more if its not where i want it, and might have him put a little more turn in the neck. by the looks of it, the offset shoulder takes up alot of the turn. but i want to see it in person before it goes underway. also gotta work out the ear position. he says ears back will look best and really bring out the attitude of the mount..we will see. you can see i AM ANAL about my mounts lol. i want it done RIGHT and HOW i want. thats why i go back to this guy time after time. he LOVES modifying mounts and loves doing things that arent done often. and hes an awesome, friendly guy and loves his work and does an awesome job..

Well, I didn't do any good with my bow in Savannah, but I did take a decent 90" 8 pointer with my gun. I had to go ahead and get one to get the hex x off of me since last year's major league catatrophe with the poachers. I am a little superstitious, and it seems when I take one, they really start to come in bunches,, so I had to do something to change my mood, an dluck!:DI am going back to Kentucky in 2 weeks, and still have all season at a private tractwhere I have been seeing some smallish bucks, which means that the big boys are coming soon!

cant wait to see what else falls for the team! we aint doing bad right now with about a 90" average...if we can hold that steady, we might have it...but time will tell. alot of the guys around here are known for slamming gooduns and not doing it till the later...the entrys will start rooling in here soon...

but were doin good..


think i may head out tomarrow and see if i cant find me a doe...see what the weather and school brings...looks like tomarrow the cold front and rain will be ending...aughta be good. really want to hunt and see what my areas prove...

im just REALLY finding it tough to get motivated to hunt now that i killed my buck. i WANT to scout for next year...id LOVE another bowkill under the belt and meat in the freezer..but i just cant get motivated lol...i dont know what it is. killing them isnt the fun of it for me. i can sit in a tree all day and not see anything and still enjoy the fall day...pretty sure im going to head out though...i need to and want to. i will kick myself if i dont hunt the rest of the season..then come march i will be wishin i was in a treestand..or spent more time in one in the fall...

all right going out tonight hope to see some nice buck moveing:D:D:D i am going to a spot between two beding areas and a food sorce now i just hope that these guys are up and moving. It is so hard here becaues these bucks move so much becaues like one of the spots i hunt 300 acres and only 30 of that is woods so hunting here is not like hunting in ohio were i was born and watch guys deer hunt:)

if i make a video (hunting vid) this year how many of you would like one?? there free!!!!

haha yes kidd go look at the scorecard. I finally got him in there. Came in right at 79 in. wow the rut is coming and I'm prayin for some good weather to fall on a weekend! good luck guys keep it up!

never mind not being able to get motivated...my heart is already racing with anticipation!! i CANNOT WAIT to get in a tree here in about 2 hours. the weather is CRYING for great bowhunting. coldest day in a while, WET, rain just ended not long ago, dead calm wind.....

going to an inside corner of a small open field..theres ALWAYS scrapes off the right corner...im going to be perched somewhere above them. i dont care if i see 20 P&Y bucks...im gunna shoot them ALL. with my camera:D going to see what happens...i never hunted that inside corner...its a lonnnnng hike in. but i think it aughta be a good spot to catch them cruising..

gunna kick myself in the butt if i whack a doe back there. ive made that drag alone once before...let me tell you, it aint fun without snow...but in the end, its worth it. if i dont report back before 9pm im probably STILL draggin:D honestly its going to be a good 2hr drag if i take a doe. going to have to stash the deer and take the stand and bow out..come back and start dragging.

but boy am i pumped...it aughta be good!! just hoping the deer are still using that area like they have every other year. the forest is changing greatly in the area as the old logging cuts grow and open...
