heck ya i didnt see the video thing! let us know!

pretty poopy day for me. face is wind burnt, ear hurts again(ear i had the infection in not long ago) it was windier than all get out..a tree blew over not far from me around 5pm...i figured that was a sign to leave if there ever was one.

did a little scouting and found that they moved farther back this year. only 1 sorry excuse of a rub where i setup..usually its rubs and scrapes galore...farther in i found a FRESHLY hit scrape and a decint number of rubs..1 was about 6" thick...

instead of following the trails out i climbed the hill and follwed the ridge out. sat down at the top of the hill to cool down...stood up and took a couple steps and off ran a deer. funny i was 500yds away down the same ridge and it wasnt windy over there :eek: know where i will hunt next time its windy...

ohhh well. beat the heck out of whatever else i woulda been doin today...going to try to send dad to that spot i found the rubs at in rifle season if he hunts...we had a honey hole 500yds in the other direction but the thicket grew up and quit holding deer...the spot i found today will really be better in rifle..its gunna be THICK bowhunting..if i can even find a tree...

I haven't been bowhunting much the last week, weather has been warm plus ML season was in so the woods were full of smoke polers. Once the rain slows down I will be out every day for the rest of the week, we finally have some cooler temps in MD. Rut is starting to warm up a little bit, lot of scrapes and rubs popping up. This is the time of year I live for........bow season officially starts NOW!!!!!

[:@]I shot under a doe last night. I think I rushed my shot, the first doeI pulled back on my elbow hit the tree and she took off. I just had a all around bad night last night. Its very windy here today so I'm grounded be back out Friday night to redeem myself. :)

Hit the woods last night in the rain and saw 1 buck cruising through. It was to late and he was about 60 yards off so I didn't get a real good look at him. I have my gear in the truck today but it is absolutly pouring here and it doean't look like it is going to let up until tomorrow sometime. As soon as this rain passes tomorrow I will be in a tree, after 3 days of constant rain those dear will really be on the move when it stops.

Seen a Doe and a little 6pt tonight they both offered shots. I was back over a mile so I didn't shoot the doe would have been to far to drag her by myself. I'm going back out tomorrow morning.

Had a pretty good morning sat'day. 4 bucks, 3 does, and a button head. 1 shooter, but out of range. 2 decent bucks, older deer, but both were a 6 and a 5, neither with brow tines, or else would have been a 7 and an 8.. Also a small 4 point. The 5 kept cruising through and the buttonhead got too close, so the 5 pinned his ears back , walked at him with that sideways gate, and the button took off like a jack rabbit! I am going to get one on teh ground, either here or Kentucky. Go to Kentucky next thursday through sunday--the 8th through the 11th.

man...good to hear you guys are still hunting...i been gettin worried:D

i went out this afternoon to enjoy the woods and maybe get a doe down...

540ish i spot movement...then spotted it again 100yds down the ridge...deer for sure...by the body language and way it walked id bet it was a buck cruising...let my buddy borrow all my calls so i couldnt do anything...

not long after i spot movement on the other side 50yds or so down the ridge...grabbed the binocs..got the pleasure of watchin a basket 6pt for about 20 minutes...

never hunted that spot before...walked through it 100000x...nice oak ridge..thickets on 3 sides..why i never hunted it is beyond me...the ridge is lonnnng and covered in mostly oaks..the sign is scattered...rubs here and there..poop there and here...hard to nail things down..like today...2 deer 200yds apart coming out of the same thicket...atleast i got somewhere to start for next year though...i been struggling with seeing deer up here at school the last 2 years...BIG woods, food and bedding areas are endless...back when i was young it was nothing for us to see a couple BIG wallhangers a day while fall turkey hunting...but its tough because they can eat and sleep anywhere...also used to see 20+ deer a day in rifle season back then too...not anymore...but im gettin there....the forest has changed and so has the deer movement..plus the herd reduction...

wont get out again till next monday at the earliest...id love to get out wed but i know that aint happening..got 2 big tests friday i gotta start studying for..

PS...moving sucks already lol...close this friday...we got most everything boxed up and ready to roll...i will probably single handedly move atleast half of that this weekend...then the following weekend dad and i are moving all the big stuff and we will be moved...i told him hes lucky i killed my buck because if i didnt i wouldnt be missing the rut to help them move!! he already "paid" me...he knows without me it would be dang near impossible...he gave me a Glock model 22 in 40s&w...will be my CCW and duty gun in the future...he always gives me guns lol...i cant complain...and thats why i dont complain about moving or splitting wood all summer or whatever else...sure, i live there under their roof, but they both work, and i will do the better half of the move myself...just like i did last time we moved..i just feel its my job...never expect dad to give me new toys...but he knows it aint easy with me being in school...saturday is gunna be a killer...i wanna go out and find me a fall turkey BEFORE i start moving lol....see how that goes...

Saturday was a bust saw 0 deer in 8 hours on stand, went out this morning saw 0 deer. I'm begining to think all the deer have left the state. I headed out to the woods this evening and I was talking to my buddy about the crappy year I have had. He told me all it takes is 2 minutes for a crappy year to turn into an awesome year.

Well I got setup on a little oak flat, saw a few scrapes going in so I KNEW there was at least 1 deer around...lol. Well by the time I climbed down I had seen around 30 deer. Had at least 15 in range but only 1 that was close to a shooter. He was a decent 8pt but he never offered a clear shot. He came in facing me behind some does and quickly turned to check out some other does off to my left. He wasn't a monster but he would have gotten us 80"-90". Saw 4 other bucks but they were all dinks.

Hopefully this will kickstart the action for me. I am off from this Friday until the 19th of the month so I still have plenty of time to tag a hammer.

Hey guys I am back from my elk hunting trip and a pheasant hunt in ND. I didn't get an elk, but had a lot of close calls...had elk withing 40 yards, just too dark. We had an outfitter scare a herd away from us on opening morning because he doesn't like us hunting in the area he has his clients.....we would have gotten some elk if not 5 out of the herd. I have taken elk in the exact same spot and situation previous years. Saw lots of elk and had a bunch of snow. We actually came home half a day early because we were getting so much snow...everyone was coming off the mountain. We got stopped on top of a pass for a game check and the CDOW gave us a cow that somone else accidentaly shot. so atleast I got some elk meat.

Pheasant hunting in ND was a blast. there area lot of birds out there.

Great job on the buck while I was gone...congrats to the first bow bucks.

hnt24.7, I will take one of those videos if its not too late.

good luck guys, I hope to get out duck hunting in the mornings this weekend and bow hunting in the afternoons.

It looks like team 1 is going to be nipping on our heals once HNI Justins deer is entered.

Sounds like we have 4 guys for sure still out hunting hard. Anyone heard from Tbyrd or Tucker3675? We need all hands on deck if we are going to pull this thing off.

Haven't heard from either, I checked Tuckers profile a week or two ago, he hasn't signed in since he last posted.

I can't make it out til friday got some trick or treating to do tonight and thursday I have to work no getting out of that. Friday I plan to sit all day, the orange army will be out on Saturday but Ibe outwith my bow. No thunder sticks on our properties so the deer will move there once their getting shot at.Should have somechances hopefully!

It's all good boys, what Matt doesnt realize is we are not greedy. What kind of fun would it be to lead from start to finish? We felt the need to let another team have some glory for a little while. You will have your time in the sun and we will finish strong and take the title. Enjoy your time at the top, however short lived it may be. [8D]:D

Well guys, I just got back from my hunting trip to Illinois, unfortunately I was unable to connect on a mature buck. I did however see a definate shooter and another that was border line shooter. The weather was nasty the first 3 days, but my last day and a half was nice...and without rain. The last day and a half I saw alot of activity, just no shooters. I was just a week early. When I got back to work on Monday my work schedule was....well I don't know what to say about it, but after I was these 10 days in a role, I will hopefully get to go back to the stand, which should put me about the 7th, 8th, or 9th on stand, which here in Kentucky are some good days to be on stand, and I have a stand I have been saving all season for those 3 days. So hopefully some luck will come my way. I am hoping to maybe go back to Illinois the last of Nov. or around the first of Dec. to try to fill my tag for up there again, if it works out, and seeing how the land owner said I could come back and try my luck again after gun season if I could.

I see that we dropped out of first (just for a short period of time), but we still have plenty of time for the rest of us to put some bone on the ground. Hang in there guys, I think the season is about start rocking for us!

Had teh same good buck get by me this saturday just as it happened to me last saturday. What is it that they say about the definition of insanity--doing the same thing over and over and expectingdifferent results![&:]I also watched teh same 5 pointer for about an hour. He fed around me again, and he now is broken up even more, and has scars on his face, and a wound on his right shoulder. I know that there is a bigdaddy doing this damage, and maybe it is the other one that got by me again. The same buttonhead was with teh 5 pointer,and he bedded down within 30 yards.I actually had to climb down and slip out while he was so close--but Imanaged to pull it off without his detecting me!:)I investigated the area where the good buckwalks through and found a scrape and selected another tree to relocate to this week--hopefully thursday am--this time I will be ready--and he wil probably walk through where I sat the last 2 weekends!:eek:;)

Well I made it out Fri,Sat and Sun this last weekend only seen one good buck on Friday about noon and tiny little buck on Saturday night. Saw about 10 does/fawns in that time also. I'll make it out on Wed. night and somemore this weekend.

wow! I'm glad I got a buck when I did! This last weekend I couldn't go because I fractured the growth plate on the top of my pelvis (playin bball) and I can't go this weekend cause of work. So basically by the next time I'll be able to go for sure is the weekend of the 17th. It will have been 5 weeks since I've hunted!

It's funny you mention getting hurt playing b-ball AP.

I had a head to head collision last night playing church league b-ball, right eye swelled completely shut. I'm left handed but shoot bow right handed. Woke up this morning at 4am and couldnt open my eye at all. Woke up later and got my eye to open about 1/4" which was enough to see through the peep. So I jumped in the truck and was in a tree by 11am.

Saw 5 2 bucks, 3 does, 1 might have been a shooter but it was getting too dark to see. I have probably passed up 10 bucks in the pastweek or so. I am still off untill the 19th so I am going to be picky until late next week, then I will smoke the first half decent one I see. Hopefully I will come across a hog before then.

Went out tonight seen 5 does andright at dark when I was packing up my bag I see a silhouette ofa huge buck walking south on the fence line towards me, he got behind brush and trees and at some point he turned to cross the narrow fieldand headed straight at me grunting the whole way. Well he ended up stopping in my clearing I figured about 15yds all I could see was a frickin black blob I didn't even bother to draw my bow.He pinned me in my stand for another 15 minutes after that, all in all a fun night in the stand.

yea it was kinda a freak accident. the muscles in my leg actually pulled the bone apart. I woul've gone but I figured if i couldn't walk without it hurting I probly couldnt have dragged a ten point through the woods either:D

Do you guys play for the bad news bears JKJKJKJK, ANyway. I am finally back from Monatana and here is the result. A huge Mule deer, now I did not kill it with a bow. LONG story. I did post it on the deerhunting forum and bowhunting but thought I would share with my teamates...enjoy....and whack thiose bucks we need th e lead back.
