Had a good weekend back home. Did LOTS of tree cutting to clear the roads back into the property. Saw a few deer but a ton of grouse and turkeys which is encouraging. I've never seen it so dry though, dust on the roads was horrible. I was shootign with my brother off of my dad's balcony and a red squirrel came running by and I smoked him right through the eye at 20 yards, even surprised myself a little on that one!

Well, I'm back! Lots of no sleep for the past 5 days. But here's my newest hunting partner: Justin Wade

We've had some rain the past several days and I checked the trees and it looks like the white oaks are loaded here. I was afraid a late frost we had may have killed off the crop like it did my apples/pears. My neighbor also seeded my plot with oats. It's a 1/2 acre plot and I overseeded some Biologic and turnips. Trying to get some late season attractants because the deer are there heavy first part of season but after the acorns are gone things get scarce. Haven't seen any real nice bucks yet. They haven't been in the open this year, just the does and fawns.

TN Deer Hunter, I live in the hometownofNorfolk Southern. I work as a Systems Administrator for a local company.

Hey guys. I called the bow shop today to check to see if the Vectrix was in and I was told that they were called by Hoyt and they said they were busy trying to get the 08 models out so it was going to be a couple more weeks for me. I am so pissed off. Great customer service there huh? Now it will be after bow season opens before the bow comes in. I wish I could find something I liked in my draw length with another company that I could have before opener. This is deffinately going to be my last bow with Hoyt purely based on customer service.

FF all I can say is www.rossarchery.com you can get a Ross and not worry about draw length because all you change out is a little module I shot a 28", 28.5", 29" draw length with the same bow in about 15 minutes w by just changing this module I promise you will not be dissappointed with there bows.

Find a bowtech shop if you can. They use a module system so any bow in the shop can be changed to your draw length. Ross has been out a long way on orders, so maybe not the best option right now, unless a shop has one in stock. Any other bows at the shop you are ordering from?

Congratulations Talondale!

FF/EMT, TN beat me to it. I was going to mention Ross because the shop I use is mostly Hoyt folks and I'm seeing a lot of themswitching over. Can you get out of the deal your in now, the shop should understand and if they have a problem it should be with Hoyt and not you IMO. Good Luck

YooperMike is right about the wait, at leastthat's how it waswhen they came out at the beginning of the year.

This year it seemed like Hoyt got out all early orders really fast and had a ton os stock bows sent to shops, but now they are behind. I know the Vectrix sold better than even they expected, contributing no doubt to the long wait times. Draw-length specific bows area pain in the ass for this reason because if the shop doesn't have one you are out of luck. With Bowtech, one bow being there is as good as 7 hoyts because of the module changes making potentially 7 different draw lengths which hoyt needs 7 bows to do.

Cabelas pissed me off today too. I ordered some Wac-Em Triton heads and they said they would be shipped already (actually three different times they should have been shipped already) and today they said Sept 29. I changed my order to something else, which was cool that they allowed me to do that. I know Cabelas isn't at fault, it is Wac-Em they are waiting on, but still frustrating.

Hey guys thanks for all the input. I would really like to get my hands on a Bowtech but I was told they are 12 weeks out as well. As far as Ross, it looks like the closest dealer is about 2 hours away, It looks like I will be using the Powertec opening weekend, I won't be able to hunt much opening weekend anyways. And to add insult to injury I went and checked on my trail cam the other day and it showed 0 pics and it had been out for 5 days and you could see tons of tracks on the ground in front of it. For some reason it decided to quit working and I can't figure out why, it seems like it is on a permanent hibernation mode, when I turn the switch from off to test mode then to on it doesn't do a thing, completely drained all the juice and tried to reset the cam, and took it all apart and all the components looked as though it should be working, but still nothing.

Only one good thing came out of this week, Just found out I am going to be a Dad sometime in May!.

Congrats Talondale on the new addition!!
