I'd hunt it anyway. Here in Ill., if you leave a stand on public property it becomes public property until the state guys pull them down. Did you see any fresh rubs? I saw one Saturday when I was hanging my cameras. There are a few acorns starting to fall so hopefully the big guys will leave the corn fields and walk in front of my cameras. I'd also try looking for the thickest cover you can find there and find an isolated corner in it. I hunt a lot of public areas here. There is a ton of pressure. I have found a couple of honey holes though. I have never seen anybody walk through these spots, although I have seen them on the next ridge, it's just a real thick corner that nobody wants to walk through. I've seen several good bucks there, even a 155 8point and a 10 that would have grossed booner. good luck

In WI it is illegal to leave stands over night on State and Federal lands, but this is a township's land so I don't know if you can or can't leave it over night. There is only one way onto the property(unless you have permission from a private landowner) so I figure that if their vehicle isn't there then I may hunt the saddle. I will never hunt from someone elses stand unless I have their permission and even then I would be a little leery from a safety standpoint. I would just go in and hang my lock-on with climbing sticks and then remove them when I am done. PJ hope you get some great pics. Here in WI the acorns are really falling.

I think it's illegal in PA to leave them as well, I wouldn't do it anyway because it would be missing and I find that appauling....
It's great to see you guys on...so who's starting us off?

Saturday is looking good. The temps are supposed to be a high of 62 and lows in the 40's with a 3mph NW wind. My brother has been seeing does go past one of my stands every morning while he is driving bus, so I should be able to fill my doe(Earn a Buck) tag Saturday morning by 08:00 as long as everything goes well. If I fill it in the morning then I will probably hunt the new property. Great buck sign in there from last year and tons of acorns on this bench I found. Just gotta get that dang doe first[:@] My luck is a monster will walk by Saturday morning before I get my doe and then I will just have to take his picture. I know alot of guys would shoot the buck and then hope for a doe or use someone's tag(which is illegal in WI for bow season) but not me. It stinks that I have to shoot a doe first but it is good that the DNR is making hunters shoot does because many hunters in QDM don't harvest enough or any does.

Good luck. Another good strategy for the public ground. Hunt during the week if at all possible, especially during midday. Most importantly, hunt in the worst weather possible. I have the best luck in the rain or when it is really cold. It usually shuts the fair weather hunters down and the deer seem to know that...Oh yeah, I didn't mean that you should hunt in the other guys stand, just somewhere in the saddle.
