Man that's too bad Icedragon, always hate to see and hear about that happening! On a brighter note I did watch some fields last night where I hunt and saw five bucks. One of them was a possible shooter but need to see him at about 20 yards and then will decide I think that I am pretty much ready for the Sept 15th openner. I picked up a range finder and a buck decoy Thursday so should be good to go!

That's the one I was going to get but Scheel's is having a sale on the RX-1 and it was only $20 more otherwise I would have gotten the Nikon 440. I am just happy to have one now. It is nice when going to target shoot not to have to step off the yardage any more.

It does make it nice not to have to measure the distance anymore when you want to shoot. Also on the 3D course when you do not understand why you are waylow you can see how much you are off by.

What kind of decoy did you get? I got one last year, I didn't have a whole lot of luck with it though. I did have a young button buck buddy up to it several different evenings. He thought he had a new best friend. The only time that a good buck ever came to it was right at dark and way to late to shoot. I've got a couple set-ups ready for this year with using the decoy as the main strategy. We'll see how that gows. Oh yeah, I was walking out one morning with the decoy over my shoulder and just happen to see a good buck heading towards "us" He busted me though when I set the decoy down.

I got the Delta buck decoy. I looked at the one put out by Flambeau and the bobble head buck by Buckwing but my own opinion is those decoys are too big and will intimidate most bucks.

Sounds awesome guys, great having you guys talking..lol Like I suspected, we're all getting ready and hopes are high.

I love having a rangefinder in the tree with me. After shooting 3D for more years than I can remember it's still satisfying to just click and know for sure what distances are. I keep mine on a bino strap and when I have a shooter coming in, it's in my right hand with the bow in my left and when I'm ready, click yardage, clip release, draw and shoot. Love it. Mine is the original Bushnell Yardage Pro 400 and until it fails me, I'll keep her.

Yesterday I set a guys bow up for him AFTER it came from "pro shop"...he said he'd been shooting it and not impressed. I showed him how off center his arrow was, tweaked it in for him, took him out back, adjusted his sight and he was amazed.....in a seated position at my picnic table I grabbed my bow, sent an arrow into the 12 ring of a deer 3D target at 34 yards and he goes "you da man" and I laughed....he said he's never shot so good after I tweaked his bow....I have to laugh at some "pro shops". Keep the preparation up guys, who's starting us off?

Naw I have a good chance to score on the opener, I think, as long as I do things just right. There are big azz tracks all over the place where im at. You know what they say, big bucks make big tracks. Store that away for a rainy day
