Well the last two weeks have been pretty good. I have been seeing some deer. The first day I saw 5, 1 being a 5 point 1.5 year old. This past Saturday, I saw alot of deer, around 20, 3 buck. One massive guy that wouldn't come in more then 50-60 yards. The other 2, I would swear where 1.5 year old twins. Identical 6 points. The two 6 points and the 5 point were all with in 15 yards from me, but not what I wanted to waste my only buck tag on, when I know that brusier is running around.

Thats cool Ron. I hope he comes in for a 20 yard broadside shot for ya. Good luck everyone. We have finally seen two consecutive overnight lows in the mid to high 30's. I am loving this weather.

One of the other guys on the lease send me this picture. It is of the buck that I shot about 2 hours before I shot him I have never had a pic of a deer that I later shot. I think its pretty cool. It also serves my buddy right.....if he had been hunting he could have had him....LOL.

P.S. Ron knock the big boy down.

I just heard about the hunt that I was one this Saturday, and found out that someone shot a big 8 point. Found the arrow and was covered with dark red blood and some clear liquid. waited an hour and picked up the trail. Jumped the buck about 50 yards later and the buck was never recovered. So after I settled down, I copied Robs thread "What to do after the shot" and sent it out to the control. Hopefully they forward it out.

It is always frustrating when it is impatience and ignorance that lead to the loss of an animal. The impatience can be two fold. After they shoot it they don't want to wait long enough, and then when they start looking they give up so easily. Too bad.

And that is exactly what happened. The said person was back on stand at 1 and took a doe!

well i hope it is me! ive been so busy lately with class and everything, then this last weekend I had to usher for my cousins wedding. It was 90 degrees anyway so idk if much would be moving. luckily my dad was doing corn then and now with this cold front here deer will be everywhere. Ill be cruising home thursday night to hunt. hopefully I can get one to fall. I also have all weekend to hunt, and saturday will be my 1 year anniversary of shooting my buck last year so maybe things will work out again. Good luck everyone else, and hopefully Ron can get a big boy down, (as well as the rest of us).

BTW I get to hunt all weekend of the 27 and 28 which according to Charlie Alsheimer will be the peak of the rut, so if something dont die this weekend, it should then.
