Alright guys, I'm getting pretty psyched. I know a few of us will get to hunt this weekend. My opening day is Sunday the 1st here in Illinois. Just wanted to send you guys that will be hunting this weekend a quick reminder to read the contest rules one last time. Also, don't forget to take your camera with you into the field. Not only would itbe awful to kill a nice buck and not be able to get a picture of it for the contest, the bestpicturesare also taken in the field where you harvested your animal. They make memories that will last a life time. Well I have stood on my soap box long enough. Good look to all of you who will be outhunting this weekend . I can't wait and I'm sure you guysfeel the same way. Hopefully one of us will scoreand we will get on the scoreboard. Talk to you guys soon. BE SAFE and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

well good to see the forum is back up and running. Even though we lost a few post. Looks like everything is running a little quicker. Looks like I won't get out in the woods again until sat. If anyone is hunting keep us posted.

Well the good news is that we are on the board....the bad news is that we are barely on the board.[&o]

It was a cold rainy opener here in Va. After the usual opening day "little things" that always go wrong I got set up in the gloom and rain. Saw one comming thru the brush and caught a glimpse of antler. I couldn't tell how big he was in the brush, but where I hunt bucks are pretty scarce (public). So when he hit my lane and paused I let him have it. Waited an hour 15 and found a nice bloody arrow, but no blood trail in the rain.[&o] Started looking in the direction that he was last headed and found nothing. Sure enough he had circled and had only made it about 35 yards. 20 yards quartering away liver and lung and a half. Spitfire 100 made a big hole, but all the blood was either contained or washed away in the rain while I waited patiently (yeah right) for the deer to expire. UNFORTUNATLY what was a hoped was a small six in the gloom and rain became a 3 on the ground.

Sorry guys[&o]

Mitch

Congratsmitch!!! Awesome!!! No need to be sorry. Be proud of what you kill. At least you got us on the board. Now if the rest of us can contribute we have a good chance of winning this thing. I went out this morning and only saw 3 doe and a button buck. Was gonna go in the morning but I have come down with something awful. I have about a 103 degree fever. I hit the couch today about noon and just now mustard up enough energy to walk to the computer. Maybe, I will feel good enough to go out tomorrow evening. Good luck to all and talk to you soon.
