I can't remember if I said this or not, but this is my sons first year of archery hunting. If he arrows a descent buck, can I use his buck for this contest? Not sure if I can do that.

If he is over 150 inches, then yes, we will use him for the contest, LOL...

Nope, I'm pretty sure the buck has to be one that YOU have taken.

Good luck to your son, I bet you are almost more excited about watching him hunt this year than hunting yourself. Be sure to post pics if he is succesful.

I am extremely excited!!!! I can't wait for him to have the opportunity to pull back on a deer. I am going out with a camera to hopefully capture it. You all can be sure that if he gets on I will definately post them here first.

Yes, I am picky about the bucks that I shoot. Not so much about the size of the antlers, but the age of the buck. I will not shoot a buck under 3.5 years old. We have been managing our farms (my dad and I and my grand parents) for about 5 years and it is really starting to pay dividends. Saw a really nice 9 out in the alfalfa a couple of days ago, which is a huge improvement because we used to have no resident good bucks and now we obviously have some. Hopefully I will get lucky enough to arrow another one this year. If not I sure will enjoy trying.

I am getting the itch big time as well. I get to go after antelope in two days and I can not concentrate at work anymore. Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures of the hunt when I get back to stir you guys up a little more.

good luck on Saturday Berwindale. Lucky you get to start a whole month ahead of me. As for the "Itch", I am trying to hold it back as long as I can. If I let it get to me, then the wife will get a little ticked and thats not what is needed now is it.
