Welcome to all on team 17! My season, in Missouri, starts sept 15. I managed to get 28 days in a row off work, during the peak of the rut, so I hope to kill a big one for the team.

Good luck to all, Dennis

ron3775 is checking in. Can't really give a report on how the hunt season is looking. I hunt a secure government installation, and they don't allow scouting. Good news though, a buddy said that he seen what looked to be a 10 maybe a 12 point about 300 yards from the stand location. I have my son that is starting archery season this year. He gets first crack at all deer, if he gets a nice one then I will use his.

Also might as well start it now and start thinking of a name. The name we had for the gun season was Rackaholics. Just throwing that out there. Open to anything.

Whats up fellas?? Checking in from Montana here. Things are looking good here for both numbers and quality of deer. I have the first week of the season off. Sept. 2nd is our opener. I am not really a trophy hunter but always try to hold out for something decent. Both Whitetails and Muleys where I hunt, so it will be intersting to say the least. Looking forward to getting to know you guys, good luck!!

Hey guys. I already started one but it got bumped to page two. Maybe Rob can help us out and combine them. Nice to see some other people check in though.

Looks like this is the active thread...

Hi guys, I'm from Minnesota and hunt in the SE part of the state. I have a number of private family farms that I have access to. Season opens here on September 16, butI will be chasing elk before that. I have never hunted elk before and pretty excited about it.

Glad to meet all of you..

Well I am after either one of these boys in the below picture. I hunt about 8 miles from my house so I can get out there quite often. Last year I had a drop tine 15 yards from me but could not get a clear shot. Things look good here in Nebraska.

You will love elk hunting. I grew up in Wyoming and it is the best hunt to go on. Hope you have some luck.

I was a little slow in checking in but I am here now. As you might have guessed I am from Texas. I have several places that I hunt but my bow deer will probably come from outside of Harper, Tx. The deer there are not huge but there is a lot of them so I should not get skunked....LOL. I have a 4 1/2 year old 8 point that has been coming in almost every day since April. He will probably only go about 110 but unless he changes his pattern in the next 39 days he should be down about day light on 9/30.
