Ok my radar is off

hunted the new spot tonight. got off work at 4 in stand around 5..snuck in good and quiet and didnt kick any out. didnt see anything but 1 squirrel. guess it might helped if my eyes were open..i woke up when the last bit of the sun was going down over the hill. i wasnt COMPLETELY out..i would heard a deer if it came in. i think the small game hunters pushed all the deer out today. i counted about 10 on the short 1 road drive in. i like the new spot...but then again i dont. its TOO thick. i like the thickness and the creek bottom atmosphere but i dont know if i could get a shot off in there. by the time i see the deer its going to be in my face. i dont know..i think next friday after work at 4 ill sneak in there and try to find a better setup for sat morning..we will see...

on a happier note im about 80% sure i seen MY buck tonight. it was pretty daylight when i got out but dark in the woods. so i went for a drive to see where other small game hunters were to plan my spot better. in the field across the road from my spot i could SWORN i seen a buck..looked like the same thick wrapped around rack..pulled in jumped out with the binocs and i couldnt find the deer..i know there was a deer there when i drove by. cant say for 100% that it was MY buck but it sure looked like it..

Don't feel bad, yesterday I didn't see a single deer either and I spent 12.5 hours in a treestand. I climbed up before light, got down at noon and 4 to urinate and climbed down after dark. Not a single deer and I call this my honey hole? lol

I did see red fox on six different occassions so I messed with them. I could have shot 4 but I don't have a furbearers license, I'll have to get one next year. I did shoot picutures though.





And he didn't spook right here under the tree. He looked cause I made kissing noises at him to see how'd he react to the Enigma, I even moved around to take the photo and he didn't spook. He walked away and I made mouse noises and he actually came back. Good camo review. Foxes are hard to fool.

awesome pics rob!! foxes are amazing little critters!! is that the same one you seen 2 weeks ago the day i seen one? im always happy to see a fox. to me that means your hidden good and your scent control is good. surprised you didnt get a furtakers license after the first encounter. he would look awesome beside the yote mount you got!! one thing that always gets me is the size of their heads. its just kinda...tiny compared to their bodys and big ole tails!

thats wierd you didnt see a deer at all yesterday. i worked till 4 but it seemed like a nice day.

today was the first sunday of the season i didnt wish i COULD be out. i think all the other sundays were beautiful. today was kinda miserable. cold..windy..a little rain..yuck!! gunna check the forcast...may head out tomarrow...may not. think im getting a cold i dont know..i dont wanna be laid up! between school and hunting i got a busy 2-3 and a half weeks coming up.

got next saturday off. gunna find me a fall turkey! going to try to arrow one..but if that dont pan out im gunna meet my buddy around 1030 and switch to the shotgun.

Rob, sounds like you're covered up in bucks. When ya gonna connect with one buddy?

Holy cow.....You guys have been busy.

Did I think about you guys while i was in Mexico??? OK....truth be told....a time or two. I hate like hexx you didn't recover your deer, Mauser. I know EXACTLY where you've been.....and I also know to keep the faith. I learned more from hitting my early buck than I ever learned from harvesting my buck, this year. Thing is, though....I LIKELY wouldn't have pictures of the second one had it not been for the lessons learned from the first one. Just keep hunting.....and hunting hard.

Rob, Germ......you guys are seeing deer. It's just a matter of time until "your" deer walks by. I'm just waiting on the photos.....

I'm glad some of you other guys are checking in and reporting. I love hearing about all of your seasons. BTW.....GERM.....Great doe! I'm looking to score on one of them nannies, myself, when I can get back out there. I followed the advice in the book Germ......and gained access to 2 more places to hunt. it only adds up to about 10 acres......but they're side-by-side....and I KNOW there's deer, there....and I also know they're not pressured and that no one else will be hunting them. That book is a good source.

I'll keep checking in.....and I might post a photo or two from Mexico.....if you're nice!

Yes welcome back, I hope you are all relaxed and ready to go.

While I have 4 hours of vaca I can use this week, I like how Wednesday isshaping up weather wise. Little wind and coming out of the WNW. Today looks good also, but it might rain, so I am going to go Tuesday I think.

The weekend hunt was no fun, 640 acers of the pure timber. Really hard to hunt, one reason is they only go hunt the land. We managed to find a scrape line, and saw a doe and a fawn. We hunted where the acorns where falling. Only got out once, rained all day Sunday.

i didnt get up today. one of the first days i coulda hunted but didnt. weather just wasnt looking good. cold, WINDY, and a chance of rain/snow..i duno if i was/am getting a cold or allergies or what but i think it was better i caught up on some sleep. i gota do a smallllll paper for wed evening so im going to get to work tonight or definently tomarrow on that so i can hunt wed on my scrapes. see how that pans out. i know it probably hasnt dripped in about a week. but it did for a week itll confuse the crap outa him when it starts again! lol
