I'll go with the DEERmenatorskcison. Good call. Unless their are woman on our team than we can change that so nobody is offended. What's everyone else think?

Good luck ahunter and Kelly, especially since opener is any day now for you! I am buying one more ladder stand tomorrow and hoping to get it out this weekend - two weeks before our opener on Sept. 16. Its one of those buddy style type stands with a large platform. I'm looking forward to taking some relatives/friends along on some hunts, probably more so during gun season though.

Anyway, I like the name suggestion. How about "The Deermenators" then???

Just to let you guys know, I have yet to kill a big buck in archery, this year will be my sixth year hunting archery, last year I started passing up the smaller ones and got really close to getting the one i wanted (didnt come in close enough). So far I have about a 140s 9 point, a 130s eight point, and a 110-120 eight point on my cam. And on top of that I am going to IL the Oct 30-Nov 3. So this year I should have a pretty good chance of getting a big one, Ill do my best to get this team points. Anyone else scouting out any big ones?

Sweet! Team 21 is fully checked in and ready for duty. Welcome ddlyrfl3006! This will be your year! I can feel it! It will be mine too as I have yet to kill any buck by archery. We have that on our side.:D

I've seen some big tracks and got a few 8 pt or higher in Loch Ness type photos late at night on my trail cam so I'm hoping for a slip up early season or just hunkering down for the long haul and planning to hunt the rut hard.

So guys, I changed the thread to DEERmenators? Sounds good to me! But I can change it if there is a disagreement.

I'm sitting in a hotel room in downtown Boston tonight traveling for work. Gotta beer here with the laptop going stir crazy. I am sticking out like a sore thumb in New England. People think I walked right out of the movie Fargo. :D

The name is fine with me. Anyone want to work on a picture for the team?

What bow does everyone shoot? I have a Hoyt Havoc. Sweet bow that has done me well. I will probably use Rockets or Snyper broadheads again this year. I have had great success with both over the years. Shot placement is the key to any broadhead. Use a LW climber, Gorilla hang-on and some other no name hang-on that I picked up cheap last year.

Great topic of discussion T in PA3! I shoot a Parker and love it. It's a "mid-level" bow but it fits me right. I shoot muzzy 3 bade 100 grains and like them. I've goat a smaller ladder stand, two-pop up blinds, and just ordered a two man partner stand. I'm going to take some friends hunting this year and plus will like the larger platform. How about everyone else???

Good idea G2. Is anyone good at creating pics/images? If not, I noticed rynaller is creating ones for people and there are some other HNI members that could do it to if we gave them some ideas and paid them some complements.:D

Thought I would share this trail cam pic. It's a yearling buck but the pic composition is cool I think. He's walking into one of my "mini-food plots" I'm experimenting with. Basically, just raking away the leave and debris in sunny spots in the woods and then raking in seed before a good rain hits. You can see our driveay/road in the background. They often come across it in the woods and use it as a travel route out to an alfalfa field.

I use ladder stands all the time & have one Double-it's a pain to set up but worth it for me as my wife goes to fil sometimes & my 2 girls will be Bowhunting this year. I also have a 16' single that I put up with a 12 footer along side for hunting & filming. I think I have 5 ladder stands, 1 ground blind,2 hanging stands & 4 stick ladders. I am putting the rest of my stands up this coming weekend & my ground blind. Everything will be ready for the Oct. 1st opener. I have a deer hauler I take them in & out of the woods on since we go in on foot. No ATVs ect.
Good Luck to those getting a Sept. start.

As to T in PA3's question, I shoot a Mathews FX and have been shooting it now for 4 years, wouldn't trade it for a bow in the world, not that other bows are bad, but I really like the way my bow feels and shoots.

chucker34, thanks man I'm hoping it will be a good season for both me and everyone on the team. One thing is for sure I am going to try to hunt every day during rut, thats what I did last year and man do you really catch the big ones moving. I counted 13 different buck in my area last year, as compared to seeing 4-5 dif bucks. So rut is what Im counting on.

chucker34, that food plot thing looks like a good idea, putting it in the woods that is, that way the deer feed and come through there more, cause its secluded.
