WisBow, sounds like you had a good opening weekend. Seeing bear...sweet. I woldn't worry about them spooking the deer, I have seen deer and bear in the same night while hunting bear. I am certain, if you put in the time the buck you want will walk in front of you.

Leverdude, sounds like you got some good spots. too bad on the coyote. I want to get one of those this year with the bow too.

Lev, Good to see there are some deer moving. My cousins
just got back and didn't see any, but did see alot of rubs.
How are the acorns where you are? They said there were alot
where we hunt.

Well, I got to hunt Friday and Saturday. Friday night, I had one doe with two fawns....and one unidentified flying object. It came down the hill and must have seen my 4 wheeler parked in the brush[:@]. Then as it was too dark to see my pins, I had two deer move in behind my stand in the brush. I started packing up and they started stomping and blowing so I will have to leave that stand alone for a week or two. We have 40 some stands up and I pretty much hunt the wind so I will be ok for this weekend.
Saturday evening over a bean field....no deer but I did have 5 racoons under my stand......and then I noticed the racoon poop eye level on a fork in the tree behind me. Yikes.....i don't like racoons. They can be real mean[>:]
We got up Sunday am and left the farm at 7:30 am in order to get home in time for the daughters reception ceremony at the university. I'm STILL a good mom!! I will be back in a tree this weekend. Waiting for bucky!! If I get the opportunity, I will kill a doe or two for the freezer. Love that venison. More later. Good Luck and hunt safe. Diann

Just bought a couple of those Ilumenocks to try for those last light sits. Maybe they will come in handy. Won a gift certificate. Got 2 for $20. Look pretty neat. Can't hurt to try.

Nice buck congrats to him! What has everyone been seing? I've just seen a nice 8 and a 3. Couldnt get a shot at the 8 tho or else i woulda tried to shoot it.

Wes, Thats a very nice crab claw buck. I love odd horns on a deer.
Our season doesn't start until next weekend. I have to be in CT
tuesday. I am going down Monday night. I will be hunting
mornings and nights and working during the day. Hopfully I can see
the bucks that are making all the rubs at my cousins place...

Well guys, I almost got a buck for us but I shot over it. [:'(] Looked high in the fading light but I thought I nailed him. Went & looked at my arrow & not a drop of blood, just some brow/black hair. Guess I scalped him. Went looking for blood as I couldn't, & still cant believe I missed & while looking for blood I saw them running off. He was with another 6 & a button. Only relatively good part is I dont think they know what happened or where I was.

Wasn't big anyway but I sure wanted him.
