called in 3 bucks the first one came in looked like he had some meat on his bones, so i drawed up well my face mask messed up couldnt see my sight. then he passed my shooting lane. i tried to adjust my mask drawed again still cant see my peep sight, then i pull my mask way open and try to grunt him back he keeps going. well then i hear another deer its a buck not as big but he has some meat on his bones. so i draw up my mask is still in the way of my peep so i decide to just shoot the way i would shoot a recurve no sights. i have practiced this just for this reason so at 15 yards i let the air out of a dandy buck. then old white horns shows up. he was to far down anyways. after a friend shows up we haul him about a mile. well boys i scored i dont expect him to score more than 100. pic is till pending approval.

Hey crew, I'm back home from the job for an extended weekend, then I get to go back again. Cripes, I retire last June and then get stuck away from home more than ever. I did get to see a few deer as I travelled from camp to the drill site on occasion, but no shooters. They were all mule deer and had to be 4 points minimum on at least one side. Having taken my whitetail buck earlier, only a mule deer buck was still open for me. At any rate, that season finished yesterday. Now the only opportunity is for a late season archery whitetail doe, starting Nov 25.
Now, I see there has been all manner of excitement among our team the last couple weeks. You guys have been having a whale of a time. But there's sure a couple teams that have gone hog wild lately; we'll catch 'em.
bowhuntinoh, a hearty congratulations on your buck. We'll anxiously await pictures. Good job!
Fsh, as per your suggestion a couple weeks ago, I will eventually have some pictures from my absence. Got some very snowy ones. Coldest day so far was -1 deg.

Canuck, welcome back. I've done some hiking in BC and will enjoy the pics, God's country up there in the frozen north... thanks in advance.
While doe-hunting the past week, I saw several (small) buckspass through a distantpine thicket. Ifound agreat funnelnear there, and satin ityesterday afternoon for a few hours. I had two young bucksrun a doe pass me at mach1 several times, and at last light,a trolling spikepassed just 3 yds away. Headed out for a half-day hunt this am with Fred and Ethyl, my deadly pair of decoys that have suckered in trolling bucks in the past...
