RE: team 34 check in thread
Wow, our team hasn't been saying to much. I no I haven't been able to contribute much, I have been a little busy lately, but hopefully I'll be around a little more in the coming weeks. From what I have read I think we have a few team members hunting already, I hope they let us know how their season is going.

RE: team 34 check in thread
I'm all ready to go, just waiting on opening day, I think for most of us its Oct 1, thats when this will be a busy place. Untill then I'll be working away during the week, andduck opens this saturday so I'll be out shotgunning (not in the area I'll be bow hunting).

RE: team 34 check in thread
I have been hunting since the 15th. Doe, doe and more doe's. Had a little 6 point I guestimated a 80 or 90 class buck within range monday evening but I have seen much better deer so I let him walk. What I did find sort of puzzled me, A line of scrapes this early in the year, yes scrapes and not rubs.
Tuesday evening I did not hunt, was going to pickup son from football practice. When I got home at 530pm I decided to run out to were I saw this buck licking an overhanging branch into a bean field and sure enough there was a scrape. Knowing the lay of the land I was able to follow the trail he was using ( did not walk on trail, followed it walking 30 to 40 yards off trail) and found 2 other scrapes. Seems a little early to be seeing scrapes but I decided to adjust one of my stands and moved it the 150 yards so I would be in the path of the buck when he makes his rounds. I would judge this buck through the bino's as being a 130 to 140 class buck. Have seen a few other bucks in the fields late in the evening but nothing spectacular. Anyways, that is my hunting experience so far. Let's see if I can out smart this guy. BTW he is a real nice wide/tall 9 point, huge bodied deer. Dave |

RE: team 34 check in thread
My season does not open until Oct 15th. Why? only the fish and game dept can answer. I sure wish I was hunting rather than just setting my stands but such is life and wegotta play the cards we are dealt. I live in a state where the total annual deer harvest is about 10,000 so I may not be able to be that selective. Wish I could pass on a young buck, but if I see one I am gonna slip an arrow thru his lungs. A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do and I gotta kill sumpin. I can kill 2 bucks and should have permits for a few doe. Geez I wanna kill sumpin..>>>>>>Whack!

Man you guys are a quiet team. Hopefully you are all strategizing, planning, scouting and actually hunting. Your gonna need all that if you think your going to have a chance at second place behind team 36.;)
