This is rule #5. If I read this correctly, it says that if I'm signed up in another bow contest this contest isn't open to me? Please clarify, because when AT and some other forums open a bowhunting contest thread, I may or may not decide to sign up for them based on the answer I get here... What about local big buck contests at your friendly neighborhood pro shop?

I just want to be perfectly clear on this.

No,no RIStrut....that is clearified to mean here on HNI...there was contests trying to pop up in youth and crossbow...I wanted everyone to come together here for a great year, the comradorie etc...you can join contests throughout the internet but only one bowhunting contest on this site....signup you turkey guru...let's see that whitetail.

Man I can't wait!! This will be my first year (I only recently found Hunting.net). How was it last year? Did most of the teams have good participation? Is there any where to see results from last year? I know XX won but are there pictures or anything from last year?

Mostly bragging rights although HNI did send out a little care package for the winners the previous contest. That can't be expected and remember this is for fun and braggin rights. If HNI ponies up again this year, that's a bonus.

if you start with 1-10 and follow through with next 10 on through we can get some teams started. Sorry for being impatient, just ready to get with my team to see how everything looks for everyone.

ron, NO....I'll pick teams when the deadline comes and they will be picked randomly....it wouldn't be fair otherwise...there are veterans at the begining and newbies towards the end, not entirely but mostly....I know that doesn't make the quality of the hunter but random is the best way....please be patient, teams will be picked the first week of Sept...it'll come.

So the official rule on the video is, there will be another sign up for that, correct?
I think we should all try to get HNI the video's we shoot for there time in having us in this contest.... but I also think it was a good decision to make the two seperate.

No seperate sign up for the video contest...the video teams will be the same as the buck contest teams....same teams, different contests...

Now I know that not everyone on all the teams will be participating in the video contest however, that's the way it's gonna happen.

Within this forum you can be in the main contest, the video contest, the heaviest doe contest and the main contest big buck contest.....

I read in a previous post the entries will be scored under P&Y rules using the gross score and can be scored by whomever we choose (ourselves, friend, official scorer, etc). Is the drying period rule in effect or can we enter green scores?

Hi Rob I was looking at the P&Y score sheet and is the gross score columns 1-3 and then you back out column 4 for net? Not sure...thanks

We are taking Gross score so no deductions. You are correct for net scoring, the difference is deducted in column 4, remember tho, for this contest it is gross score, no subtracting column 4, on the sheet it would be the subtotal before taking column 4 out.

Rob,

What do we do if we initially enter an incorrect score.

I entered a score and was told that it looks like itshould be a higher score. When I re-added, I realized that I had not added my spread to the total.

Can I reenter the correct score, or should I leave it as it is and not cause a stir.

I was wondering if you could help. I scored on a buck for Team 12 but have not been able to post it because it says the file is too large. I have had nothing but trouble trying to resize it and the only way I can get a picture to post is through a link. I will attach one to this post along with the score. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

new...goto photobucket.com make a user name etc...upload your pics for free...automatically resized to fit...and it will provide the location name for you to paste right in these posts and it works. good luck..nice buck BTW!! congrats...rob will let you enter it like that i do believe...i seen someone else entered one with a link..

Here's a plea to the team captains:

I've heard rumblings from several people ......and you've all seen entries that we all KNOW aren't scored correctly (let's not beat around the bush.....there's no PC way to say that).

I'd like to ask the team captains to police this amongst their teams. If it's obvious (and some are).....please address it...so that somone that isn't on your team doesn't have to.

This contest IS FOR FUN.....but even fun contests have rules.....and we'd all like to think we're getting a fair shake.

I'd like to thank everybody for what has been one of the most fun contests I've ever been a part of. This is a LOT of fun....and I have fun congratulating all of you on your harvests. I hope everyone gets the deer they're after!

When does this end? PA's early archery season is done but rifle will soon start up and I was planning on using my bow at times during the season.

Rob I was wondering why my deer hasn't been officially entered yet. It is the last buck on page 7 and all the deer before and after it have the ENTERED in their post.

Also the score is not on the scorecard on page 1. Let me know if there is some kind of problem with the picture, as I have many more.
