Mike- Mailed your stuff UPS yesterday... not the packs..

Ryan- Green pack-ok, I will get those UPS'ed tomorrow guys. Antlers too...I have to pack them seperately....

Ryan has his rattling antlers...I guess you guys have to come visit me to get me to give them too you! LOL

William, Button... you guys are hunting next week?

Anthony-good luck and I hope you find some time in your busy sched..to get out after that buck!

Fran- Best of luck bud, thanks for the Lunar table info...I put quite a bit of stock into weather conditions but agree that the lunar phases do effect deer movement too...especially when the conditions are right with the phases..did that make any sense?

Last nights hunt... On the ground...travel area to and from feed. Nothing moved until right at dark. I had one small 4x4 buck, 1.5 years old come by. Thats it. Pretty slow, but it was nice to slip out and get some whitetail hunting in. I will hunt again this evening...

ORIGINAL: IL Rancher

I'm guessing that BBM was running the board for the radio station that he works for during the ball game as they carried it. You know, doing the station identity breaks and commercials.. There is a local station around here that does cards games and the same station's FM affiliate does cubs games.. I would almost kill to have my team playing meaninful game sin September.. Or June... Or May...
IL rancher nailed it. I played the commercials, station IDs, etc. We had a kid call in sick, so I got to pinch hit. I'll probably still go to the game, we used to have season tickets, I went about 60 times totalin 04 and 05. They priced me out of season tix at the new stadium. It will be a meaningful game, thats for sure. I bleed Cardinal red, but I honestly think that Houston deserves to be there. Look for mass suicides in STL if they do choke.....not that it matters....they will go 3 and out if they make it to the playoffs. Pitching is the name of the game, and ours is toast.
Shed, our season starts Sunday. I'll be out there bright and early, looking for the 8 or 10 pointers that hung out near my stands all summer.

Good luck guys
Dave

I will get out more this year than last I bet.. No trips out west to buy cattle although I might be going to Pittsburgh to see the grand folks and than down to Fort Bragg to see some old college friends that are getting back from Iraq and Afghanistan respectively in the near future (Are already half way home but have debriefing and the like and briefing of replacements).. I am pushing hard for hunting on Sunday now because looking at the weather we have a warm front coming in next week. 80 degrees forcasted for Monday... Nice sun tanning weather but deer hunting? Maybe if I lived in the south. All set up for the season now, just set up the ground blind today and a ladder stand for later in the season, climber is ready to go and the lock ons are up... Which way the wind blows on Sunday will tell me where I hunt. Wind from the south and I could be hurting a bit, lol.

Good luck Button and IL....

I hope to have my internet hooked back up at home by the weekend. I am trying to get highspeed through my satellite. I am sick of fighting the dial up.

Quicksilver-

How's the hunting looking this year? I'm seeing alot of deer down where I'm from near Connellsville. Haven't talked to you since turkey season, I haven't been on much.

Hopefully I'll be able to find some time to hunt all these deer I've been seeing, but school, work, and the success of the football team have been keeping me pretty occuppied lately.

Troy I will be hunting on sunday the first but I don't think I will get out in the woods again until the following weekend. I have Carlie all day and Amanda gets home from student teaching about 5 min. before I leave for work. So right now I don,t get to see her very much. I will try to be in the stand as much as possible and hopefully put a good one on the ground. I was out scouting the other day and they have beendoing alot of dozer work on the land next to where I hunt so I hope it does not mess with the deer movement. I will talk at you all later.

Will - I didn't know your wife was student teaching. Lots of work and it can be stressful, Kelly did that last spring, and it was tough. Spend time with her when you get the chance, because with the kids and the workload, she's probably at wit's end.

On one of the gamelands that I hunt, they're putting in several natural gas wells, running lots of heavy equipment, etc.. Anyway, it seems like it doesn't bother the deer much, they've just adapted their patterns to avoid the workers while they're in there.

Hiawatha - something tells me that you'll do fine this fall. Good luck on those elk.

Mike - you gotta get with the program man. LOL J/K Hey, I framed two of those pictures and they look awesome!

Anthony - I saw PSU is giving Northwestern 17 - I say the cats cover easily, 24-17. 2 INT's by each QB. You heard it here first. I'll be tuned in on the stand. I just put fresh batteries in the radio and got new earbuds for 06.

Dave - The Redbirds are hanging onto that 1.5 game lead - Pujols is the only thing holding that team together. The Pirates could've given you guys some breathing room, but that's Pirate baseball for ya. They blew a 6-1 lead. Have fun tomorrow night - they need another win, so it should be jumping. Man, I love fall ball, but the Pirates haven't played a meaningful fall game since 1993. . . . . and you thought YOU had it bad!

Troy - any luck last night?
