Hello Guys!
Man I apologize for not getting on here the past couple days. I have my brotherup for the next 3 days whitetail hunting
I see you guys have everything taken care of and AR, welcome aboard the DOUBLE X! We finally have a full roster. Good things to those who wait right????

Well guys I have been busy hunting and have had deer under my stands everyday. I am moving in on a couple water sources tomorrow, these are back in the thick timber and fruther away from the alfalfa which isn't getting as much attention as it needs to, too merit much time there. We really need a rain, we have wild fires popping up all over the area. Its amazing how these condtions have changed so drastically in the past 2 weeks and how the deer are too.
We have had a couple 115 to 120 class 4x4s in range but the big boys just arent moving in the evenings until after dark. One of our big bucks was in the field about 3 hours after dark. Its time to get in close to the beds and water...
I hope all is going well for everyone, I'll chat with you all tomorrow.
Troy

Ahh, Shed, thought you were gone because you were dragging old yeller in... Darn [8D]. Put out a trail cam today at a likely spot.. Will not go back to spot for 2 weeks and than I will move it to another spot at that time...Checked the northern part of the property today looking for someone (thought I heard someone shooting back there) and than looked around for some sign and stuff. Found a real great little grove, with lots of activity but it has no trees that are suitable right now. maybe when the leaves drop, I will go back tomorrow and double check and than back out of the area until harvest activity starts
. Lots of real young oaks and there was a nice scrape/rub line there last year. When I was leaving a came up over a hill and a pretty nice buck went bounding into the corn... He looked like he was about the size of these two bucksat the local shop which scored 145 and 135 (they killed each other, locked in a fight, the big one broke the small ones neck and couldn't get away so they had to kill him too) but it might have been my imagination ashe got into the corn real fast and theonly real impression I got of him was "damn, that is a big buck".They get that big but it is hard for them to make it that long sometimes around here. The orange army does a lot of driving in the fall. Not on our ground but.....
Good news is that corn up there is almost ready to pick, will be gone by opening day is my best guess so that will really get animals moving... Sounded like the fourth of july today with all the dove hunters out and about... Yikes!

First thing is first...Welcome AR34! It's nice to have you aboard.
Now for the bad news...I just found out the other day that I will be getting deployed to Baton Rouge, LA for the month of October. That's right...The first four weeks of bow season is F[:'(]C[:'(]E[:'(]!!! Unfortunately, I work for DHS and I will be leaving the last couple days of September and be gone for 30 days. Don't count me out though...I always produce.
Just imagine how I feel. I'm thinking I have over 200 hours of sick time built up so, if I can find a doctor to cooperate with me...No - just joking. The people that this hurricane effected is enormous and we can just all be glad that we aren't in their position.
So if you guys can, please keep me in your thoughts for the month of October - I hear that alot of agents and officers are being shot at - That's no fun. Anyway, I should be able to communicate with you guys while I'm there because I will have my laptop.
So long for now, and SHED33 give me a hollar for old yellar!!! Bring it home!!!!

yea it may not be good for your hunting but you'll be helping out our country in a huge time of need. Stay safe, and good luck.
As far as hunting stuff for me I'm still in the process of determining whether I'll used fixed pins or a pendulum. I've used a pend, for longer than I can remember, but I've recently revamped my setup and I thought I'd try out fixed pins, and so far I'm finding acceptable accuracy at all my hunting ranges. I have to make sure my results are repeatable thru a few days of shooting. We'll see, I'm nervous to change things.

Good luck down in Baton Rouge... Hopefully all of the shooting and burning will have petered out by than... Always stinks when hunting season is disturbed but I think anyone would agree with you that it is definitly a worthy cause..
I don't think it will affect me this year as far as hunting but January will probably be a no to limitedhunting zone for me. My wife and I are expecting our second child in February and thinking back to her last pregnancy she was pretty shot for the last 2 months.. With a little one already running around I have a feeling I will be having to pick up some of the slack around the house, darn it, she is making me be responsible again..
