RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
Those are some nice sheds Tyler. I wouldn't pass on him either.
I was dissappointed in that 8 pointer just because he doesn't really have any mass. If he makes it to next year, I'm sure he will be a nice one. Only problem around here is most hunters go by the "If it's brown, it's down" rule. They don't care if it's a button buck or has spots on it. I went out to that spot on Friday and only saw 2 small doe. One still had spots. [:@] Went to my friend's property on Saturday and saw four 4 pointers, a spike and five doe. They we all within 15 yards of my ladder stand. It's kinda cool having them play around below me without them having a clue I'm there. There are a few 8's and maybe a 10 around there. The farmer next to him is cutting the soy so I think they will start moving through now. I'm getting kinda antsy about not having seen a nice buck yet. Good thing is that most of the other teams haven't posted a buck yet either. There's still a lot of time left. |

I went out over the weekend. I had a spike and a small 4x4 within 10 yards on Friday night. On Saturday I seen some does about 125 yards away. I plan on going out tomorrow night and this weekend.

Went out tonight and saw a 5x5 (120 to 125) class buck. He was about 4 yards away. He was a little to close for comfort! I let him pass waiting for a bigger one about 140 or better.

RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
reflexkid, congratulations on your first bowkill buck! My first one was a little 6 pointer 20 years ago and I remember everything about hunting it. It does look like your'e getting a little too cozy with him in the second pic though! LOL
![]() As far as my luck is going, well, I just don't have any. [:@] Went out Friday morning and last night and the only thing I saw was a fox. I hope the rest of the team is having better luck. There is a spot that is opening Oct.21 for bow only. It only gets hunted for a month every year and there are some big bucks in there. Hopefully I will see a good one there if I don't get one before hand. |
RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
Reflexkid, nice buck, way to get team Buckstoppers on the board:)! Now it is up to rest of us to go out and get one. I went out last night and seen one buck about 300 yards out in the crp field. I think I'm going to give it a try tonight. It has been in the 80's the last few days and the deer haven't been moving at all. They are forecasting highs in the 40's in the next couple of days with snow showers. That should get the deer moving, looks like I will have to find my cold weather gear.
