RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
HI fellas......still looking for my buck. I hunted last Friday(23-degrees), Saturday(14 degrees), and Sunday(18-degrees).....but it was fun and we saw a lot of deer. My husband had a great 10 point come in behind him in some brush.....no shot, but he said it was real exciting for a few minutes! I had several opportunitys before guns opened. The kids were either too young or inside the ears. I'm still hopeful. We saw more bucks this year during guns than we ever have. It was awesome. Neither one of us shot anything.....we're going back this Friday to take out some does. I'll check back later. Good luck to all....hunt safe and hang in there! Diann

RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
Hey team....well i shot a buck last saturday with the muzzleloader, he's not quite what i was looking for but time is running out and i have no meat in the frezzer so i decied to take him...i just wish i could of taken him with my bow would of been more of a thrill for me...but what can ya do.
He came out a half hour before dark looking to feed in this apple orchard i was watching and i let him have it at about 60yrds. I do have one tag left, and im hoping to get out with the bow a few more times to try and put one more on the board for us. We sure have been getting pounded lately with the lake effect snows here, some places in the higher elvations got 3 feet already and the deer are starting to head towards the yards already, so it makes for getting to the stand a little tough at times. here's he is my monster 8 point..lol...good luck to the rest of the team!! ![]() |

I haven't been out for a week and a half or so. I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit. Sounds like in the 20's this weekend so I might have to try it then. Finner, that is a nice buck you got with the muzzleloader. I always think about getting a muzzleloader and giving it a try. It looks like a lot of fun.

RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
Finally got out after 2 weeks of sitting in the house. North Dakota weather can be brutal. This last weekend had some decent temps in the upper 20's to lower 30's but before it was lucky to get above 0 and winds been a killer.
On Saturday, I had does go by close enough to touch but had no bucks. On Sunday, I had a buck walk by about 40 yards away. He was a 5x4 that would go around 120.Let him pass because he was just out of bow range for me and he needs another year. Had the width but did not have the mass or height. Hoping to get out next weekend. Tyler |

RE: Official Team Buckstoppers! (19) Thread
Hello all! Just checking in and wanted to see how everyone is doing. I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years.
As far as the contest goes, it doesn't look so good for Team 19. The only entry we have is reflexkid. Good job reflex! I have been out a lot this past season but only had a shot at a nice 6 pointer in velvet. Hind sight being 20/20, I should have shot him but I thought there were bigger bucks about. At least they have been in the past years. I have seen a couple of nice 8's and a 12 but couldn't get them to come any closer than 50 yards. Right now I am tracking what should be a monster but I haven't seen him. Only the 8-14" trees he has rubbed and the mounds of droppings. I have 4 more Fridays till my season ends. Can everyone check in and let us know who's season is over? For those that still have days left, do you think you might score one? Maybe we can get a couple of small bucks on the board? If I see a 6 pointer or better, he's going down! ;) (Has to be a 6 in the Federal area I hunt) Happy New Year!!!! ![]() |
