Hey guy's just checking in, it's been awhile! I have been hunting in Michigan sense Oct. 1st. I have seen a few bucks but nothing worth sticking an arrow in! Small spike, 3 point, small 6 point and a 2 1/2 year old 8 that will be really nice next season! lots of does and fawns this year! I am leaving forBuffalo County Wis. on Wed. for a week, I am really pumped! I should be hitting the tail end of the pre rut and the early stages of the rut! Can't wait! sounds like everyone else is pretty much in the same boat, lots of small guy's nothing you really want to pull the trigger on. Well that can all change as we are coming into the most wonderful time to the year!!!!!!! THE RUT!!!!!! I will update you guy's when I get back....good luck and shoot true!!!!!

Most of ya probably missed my post in the bowhunting forum. I shot the bigger 8 point Monday morning but jumped him alive 6 hours later. I called him in from 200 yards walking the other way. I shot him at 22 yards, the arrow was on, he ducked and turned making the arrow pass through high and forward. I'm convinced after watching him with bino's as he walked and stood after the shot. I waited the 6 hours and then jumped him with very little to no blood. I'm convinced he's still there and I'll meet him again. After todays work schedule, I'm off the next two weeks.......

The rut is finally starting to kick up here as i have seen 5 different bucks int he last two nights. I finally had an encounter with the bruiser of a ten pointer i had been scouting since summer, but i guess he lived to be big for a reason. I had him coming towards me, but for some reason he hung up at 40yards and all the sudden stopped and went back the way he came. I can't seem to figure it out, the wind was in my face, i was well concealed but despite my best efforts he just knew something wasn't right... How is everyone else doin??

I haven't been out as much as I would like, but hopefully I will be able to get out a little more in the next few weeks.

I have not seen any monsters yet. Some small bucks including a 2 1/2 year 8 point on Tuesday morning. He was 20 yards out andI came real close to taking the shot, but the public ground I hunt only lets you take one antlered deer so I passed. Might regret it later. I've got high hopes for this weekend and the next. Good luck and safe hunting.

Good job Rob and great story. It will be nice to see a number on that line next to our team name on the score card page. Those are two unique bucks you harvested. Where they taken from the same area? Maybe something in the gene pool.

The rut action is just starting to pick up here in Illinois, a little later than normal. We have had some unseasonably warm weather here which I'm sure is part of the reason. I did see a big 10 point tonight chasing does, he just wouldn't quite come close enough,so I have high high hopes for this weekend.

Oh, I almost forgot, I did manage to harvest a doe earlier this week. Good luck again to the team.

Congrats, Rob-any points are better than no points. Well guys my season ended in dissappointing fashion, i had a very nice 9pnter in range but just couldn't seem to get him to stand still in a shooting lane. So im done bowhunting till Dec 26th, good luck to the rest of you still out there and keep us posted.
