Had a great opener myself...no blood shed but did see an 8 that would make around 100" or so...probably would have passed him this first day...saw 2 other bucks, small ones and 8 doe all day. I also had a coyote at 15 yards but it happened so quickly I didn't have a chance to take a shot on him....he would have been number 4 and my second with a bow....it's only been one day so the season started successful in my book..good luck team.

Well the weekend was pretty slow for me--didn't see a single deer. Although it was great to be in the stand. Hopefully once it cools down and the weather starts getting back to normal, things will pick up

Another successful night, saw 2 of the buck from Saturday night including the 8 pt...man he was looking better tonight, I was thinking, I could nail him and then work at finishing my garage the rest of the season..lol, well, that and be cameraman for someone cause I can't stop sitting in a tree....lol
Anyway, the 2 buck came out around 5:40 and feed in the bean field til about 6:00. They went back in the thick stuff until I heard a deer coming...I got ready and 2 mature doe with an offspring came in behind me and went into the bean field.....the two buck came back out and feed their way to the doe....now the 8 pt. started dogging the doe, of course a novice would think....buck chasing doe and think rut.....NOT....bucks are always ready but the doe wanted nothing to do with him so feeling testy he approached the 4 pt and pushed him around a little to take out his aggression and then the fed together, heck the 4 pt was even licking the 8 pts antlers.... as I packed up I watched them feed and then another marture doe came out under me and when she was out of range, I snuck down and snuck out....great night.

Well guys, i drew blood tonight but not on a buck. I saw a lone doe sneeking along the edge of the cornfield about 5:30 tonight, she stopped broadside at 25 yards, and it was all over after that. I was alittle dissapointed when i found her and saw she really isn't that big, i deffinetly got fooled on her size being that she was alone and had no other deer to compare to. Oh well though, she'll make good jerky
