Went on a drive two nights in a row. I think I will be hitting the ground opening night and waiting on a honey hole to produce some sweet illinois honey buck. The deer I am seeing now are all heading for the river every night. I have a love hate relationship with the drought we are having. If wind is right Oct. 1st and bucks are holding in this same 100 acre timber I might have to burn my first buck!!!!! Oh the choices.....

Too bad they did not draw for teams before August 1st. I could have put the whole team up here. We would have waded through the others like water.

about captain, I don't really think it matters, whoever wants it just say so, and an update, got some good trail cam pics developed, a big 11pt, and a bunch of 2.5's. and I just found some more local ground to hunt near Lincoln with a buddy of mine. Im not too educated on the ground, but sun. im gonna go look at it. The guy said that the deer are too thick and he wants us to take some out. Probably loaded with some bruisers! can't wait to check it out, Ill let you know when I get back on Sunday.

hey, has it been a week yet? I have a strong feeling that this guy is a no-show.... maybe its time to look for an alternate... also, I would like to hear a little about your scouting experiences this year and what kind of deer you have been seeing on the property. thanks,
