Hey guys, just chequing in as i just got back hunting elk in the Breaks. Geez, elk all around everyday, could of shot a many cows but the bulls I wanted were tuff and heavey pressure, but I was about 1 1/2 - 2 mile from the truck in terrain that was like mountain goat country hunting solo and dealing with temps 100-110f in the afternoons. Anything I would of shot it would be reuined from the extreme temps. It was great though.
Taking all of next week off guys and hunt some honey holes for whitetails, temps are geting cooler and full moon is coming, maybe I sleep in and hunt late mornings til evening as this is usually my best time during that moon phase. Good luckand lets sling some arrows. ;)

I have to agee with gutshot on this one bob. Everything looks great except for the 8 in hunting other than that You have my vote.
BTW. I will not be hunting this weekend[:'(]I will be leaving ATL.GA thursday morning for california for a few days just to kick it around a little bit then I will be back on tue to get with it!....Tribal good luck sat..rta47

Not a problem fellas - I can change the "8" to the proper "n". I would however like Lefty's vote especially since he created this logo in the first place, as well as the others.

Was out this morning for opener and only saw one doe. She was in range easily but never offered a good shot. Plus it was just getting light and I was not even all the way settled in yet. I caught a nice 8 pointer on my trail cam with Velvet and the next picture he is shredded with velvet hanging all over. He was rubbing right around the camera. It's a cool pic but my scanner seems to not working. I have to figure it out so I can post the pic.

Well I made it back from from my trip and glad to be back to..
Tribal I sure hope you can get a chance at that 8 or another one like him;)

You know, I hate to be the stick in the mud...but somebody has to do it.

I didn't say anything when your logo was bigger than the specified, basically because you were the returning champs and no need to change an already winning idea to something else. But now you have gone and made it even more out of spec by adding your little show off blurb on it. I want to file a formal protest and move to have your championship revoked!!;)

Of course, I am somewhat just busting on you guys!! Even though it is out of spec, that is a nice touch. Except for now it gives us a real crown to take at the end of the year!!

Hey guys, just chequeing in. Been in the tree hunting for about 7 hrs today from mid afternoon to dark-thirty and had about 12 or 16 deer in on me at that time and mostly does and fawns and the does had two or three fawns, did have a knobbie head buck and a couple in the distance that I really couldn't tell but I know they were some good ones and have some good quality signs in here.
Its getting late guys and got to get up early, will be at it all week and hope to sling an arrow.This is the first time I been hunting deer this year as I mostly been focusing on elk,the area I'm in has whitetails and mulies and elk in the same area as well as bear, blackies and griz. The smell is so strong with animal aroma, its just a matter of time what will show up. Sunrisecomes early, good luck guys. ;)

Actually...the nick name comes from what I like to call the "Browning Effect". This happens when I show upat campwith my buck in the bed of my truck. Everyone has the "Browning Effect" in their pants.

I have only been out a few times with no sightings of any shooter yet. Season's young and patience is needed. It is tougher for me to get out this year since I have 2 young children instead of one. But it's all worth it.

Congrats on the doe RTA:). My season doesn't start until October 1st and I really haven't got to scout much this year, but I do know what crops are in every field in my areas. I have hung only one stand so far, but in the first couple of weeks I have a spot I need to hunt when the wind is just right, as I sighted a wallhanger along with 2 smaller bucks traveling along a fencerow. Its usually a decent early season area as long as the corn and beans aren't harvested for a while.

I have another fencerow that will be given some serious hunting time and it sits between 2 standing cornfields with a grass lane in between. This one will have to be hunted from the ground, but there are a few large brushpiles and a couple of large pine trees with low lying branches that can hide a hunter. I've never put any serious time into this particular fencerow although I have seen deer traveling near it on several occasions in the past. Good luck to Team 8 this season..........I have the feeling its going to be another good year for us.:D

Another crazy year for me - season starts Oct 1st and I haven't even been in the woods yet to move stands and clear lanes and whanot. I'm not that worried though - my woods really heats up towards the end of Oct anyway. I have been seeing a ton of small deer with does in the pastures, so it seems that the fall pattern is in full swing. Must have been a good year - I've been seeing triplets and twins in various doe groups. Can't wait to get in the woods.

I'm kinda glad that WV doesn't bring in our season until Oct. 15 I hate hunting in hot weather. It's supposed to be 39 degrees here thursday so that should get my neck to swelling up.:)

Lucky you gutshot! It was so hot here saturday and sunday that When I left my truck to head out into the woods it was 78 degrees before daylight. Durring the day it reached 92[:'(]sat and 91 sun with the humidity at like 85% I was completly wet with sweat before I even reached my tree both mornings. No movement from the deer ether,But it was a little cooler monday and today due to the hurricane and is supposed to be even cooler later this week with a temp around 55 in the mornings and only reaching into the mid 70s durring the day;).

The opener here on Saturday 1 Oct, the tempis supposed to be 72 for a high. The morning will be around 50. Just about perfect GOdd luck to all and hopefully we can put up some good inches.

Hey guys, been in the bush hunting white-tail and elk all in the same day for the past week. Some mornings I'd hike down the mountain encountering elk, (but thats another story) and some other days I'd hunt out of some of my stands for deer. I'd see deer all throughout the day at different times. I must of encountered about 15-20 deer every day but just little dinks. Lots of does with about 2-3 fawns, spikes, forkies, couple small racksand saw the one I want, a nice 5 pointer that had a rack that was jet black from the blood drying on it. Maybe 150 class. I still have till the end of Nov. but will take a few days off and try to get my strength back and work on taking some of the noise from a couple of my stands that could of been very costly if the oppurtunity were to come up. Those fu%@ suspended seats on stands suck, the ones that have a strap supporting the seat are a piece of junk. Been shooting every other day and pretty happy out to 40 yrds. I'm looking forward to getting some snow on the ground and things will pick up in the quality dept, the way the temps are getting at night its not going to be very long.
How have you other guys been doing? Are you hunting and seeing anything or what? Lets getter done guys and good luck.

Been doing a lot of hunting here in MD, we started the 15th. Seen 9 bucks so far 2 nice ones but not shot opportunities on the big boys. The cooler weather they are calling for should pick things upa bit. How do I get hold of the new logo to put it in my sig?

Season starts tomorrow here in MI. I'm going to get set up this weekend but won't hunt. It's supposed to be 75. Too warm for me. Next weekend though....



BTW fellas, I reduced our logo, which you can see in my sig. Right click to grab - you can then do a save as and throw that link in your sig. We should comply with house rules even though we should get dibs on the biggest logo in town. :D

Lefty, I'm planning a trip up north finally. Looks like I'm going in about two weeks. I should get at least one full day in the woods if not two. I don't know what my honey hole is like this year but I did observe a great cross road area last year that I plan on hunting.
