Wow, see what comes out when we just show a little respect? Some great things being said here.

huntingirl: Of course I'm proud of you. If for nothing else than for the fact that you will stand up for your own beliefs no matter who says what. I respect that, even if I don't agree all the time.
I see alot of myself in you. I believed much the same way when I was 18 or 19. Later on I realized that people who did the Lord's work were living blessed lives, while I was not and I resisted the word. Well, I was cast into what is called the "pit of affliction", nothing went right and many things went seriously wrong. I wanted to climb out of this pit of endless hardship and find out what God wanted me to do and live a blessed life. It took me a while to realize it but asking for nothing, doing Gods work and following his Word leads to great rewards in life.

I guess I shouldn't say I believe in evolution because I don't. But I do believe in science, and I've been to all of the Christian science seminars where they rip evolution and attempt to explain that creation is scientifically sound etc. Unfortunately, there are major holes in both arguments and both sides (evolution and creation) skew things to further their own agendas. The problem is that scientists are interested in the TRUTH and nothing more so we are caught in the middle of this giant debate. Unfortunately, many of those who would renounce evolution as a sin are not well educated in science. I wish more Christians would seek to understand and refute the theories they disagree with rather than just denouncing.

As often happens in the world, I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle which is why I believe the way I do. I understand the Bible, but I also understand that there are many stories in the Bible where metaphors are used to convey meaning and the teachings lie not in the literal sense. This is why I believe that God did indeed create the universe and all the laws that govern the universe. This galaxy, the planets, life, humans, what have you were all forseen by Him and events have unfolded (evolved) as He has ordained.

Well I'm not going to say if i believe or don't believe. I just see that people are either going to believe or not believe. I don't think less of anyone who doesn't any more then someone who does. I respect everyone's feelings towards the whole religion thing.

You need to work on being a little less defensive. Nothing I said in that last post was directed at you. If I had wanted to direct a comment to you it would have read skin38: blah blah blah. You need to relax a little your finding things to get upset about that aren't really there.

Hi, we enjoy having you around, hopefully you can come back full steam soon. Maybe if you feel like it you could drop me a PM explaining a little bit about what's going on and I can pray for you.

Thats what you believe alright thats cool but no matter how much science you know or how much you study when it comes down to it there is a God. Im not going to get into the whole evolutions wrong argument but the pure and simple fact is no matter what you beleive there had to be a creator. Because no matter how much time you give you can not get something from nothing.
So how do you know? Are you a scientist? Now you say god created everything, but here's a question for 'ya...how did GOD come to be? Did he just appear or something...'cause you cant have something from nothing.

I dont really want to debate on this issue anymore. Everyone has their own beliefs and arguing over it is not going to change anyone's. And starting this thread was just asking for trouble IMO.

This is my last post here.....
