I HAVE A 94AE BLACKSHADOW CHAMBERED IN 30-30 I WOULD NEVER GIVE IT UP I ALSO HAVE A MARLIN 336 IN 30-30 ANOTHER RIFLE I'LD NEVER GIVE UP. ANYBODY WHO SAYS THE 30-30 ISN'T A GOOD DEER GUN NEEDS HELP.

you might be able to get the gouge out with a wash cloth and a sodlering iron get the wash cloth damp then place it over the stock where the dent(gouge is and place the sodlering iron on it...(Have the iron hot) and then let it warm it up but dont let it burn the stock...
