We have a rifle range set up here at the house, all our targets are set up in front of round bales, and behind them is a hillside. very safe. as far as deer, i've had to pass up a few does because of stuff in the backround or i knew there were people behind the deer and i didnt want to shoot towards them. but, unfortunately, im sure once ina while people get hit by strays. just think of those arabs shooting off their guns into the air. somebody eventually is gonna get hit with the bullets coming down. there was a gun in iowa 3 years ago that had a slug hit him in the chest nicking his lung. he survived. his buddy had missed a deer, the slug went over this little ridge and hit the hunter 250 yards away. a freak accident basically. always know whats behind your target. always.
BTW, i hit a 4" diameter sapling with a slug when i shot at a deer..it blew it completely in half. wish i had a pic of it, but the creek rose up and washed that sapling away.

That is so cool. I wih that I could shoot my gun around my house. If I could there would be a lot of trees like that. I'll always know what is beond my target.
