Default Potato Guns

Any of yall like to shoot potato guns? what do you shoot out of them besides potatos and how far do you get them to go?

me and some friends in track built a ten foot long potato gun from the tube we use to store pole vault poles... launched one 200 yards.

300 yards sumtimes more, never shot anything besides potatoes

no they arents illegal to my knowledge. to build one take some pvc pipe about 3 inches in diameter and about 2 feet long. then take some from 4-5 inches in diameter and about a foot long and connect the 2 with an adapter. you will need the end of the 4-5 inch piece that is not connected to the 3 inch piece to have threads on the end so you can screw a cap on after you put the spray in. then take a grill switch with the button you push to make the spark anywhere in the bigger chamber but more towards the back. take a potato, stick it in the smaller end, spray some hairspray in the big chamber close the cap and push the switch and off goes the potato.

I tries to make one but i didnt work but i dont think that i usd the right propelant. u can get the instructions off the internet.

we put nails, bb's, and gravel in ours and its kick ***! it's just like a huge shotgun.

I built one and boy was that thing dangerous. One time the thing wouldn't shot so I unsrewed the cap and looked in the back and pushed the ignitor and poof I had some shorter eyebrows and eyelashes. []Be careful

Butane makes an excellent propellent and doesn't have all the crap in it that hairspray does . The propellent portion of hair spray is usually butane or propane anyway .
