Finally Scored
#1
After a string of misses( 4 misses), i got my shooting under control. On Friday, I smoked a coyote that was trying to sneak through the brush past me. Later in the day, I was posting a drive and had a doe come out to the field at 50 yards. I put a 130 grain Interbond between her shoulder blades as she was angling downhill. I saw the 4 does behind her run up onto this knob on the edge of the pasture. Then I saw antlers moving through the treees behind the does. I moved 30 yards to my left and got ready for the deer to come off the knob. The does came out first followed by what I thought was a nice 8 point. At 100 yards, I shot, and missed. the deer reacted to the bullet being close to him and lit the afterburners. Shot #2 went over his back. He was going to cross the road so I decided it was hit him or he' s gone. I aimed slightly ahead of him and squeezed the trigger. He dropped on impact. The bullet hit slightly ahead of his hind quarters, severing his spine and hitting several blood vessels. It turned out to be a 6 point with no brow tines and a 15 and a half inch inside spread. The shot was around 265 yards, no kidding. Got him wiht my Remington 700 Mountain in .270 Win.
