Lets talk about them. Not the epic James Cameron film, but the little picture we all set up to "show off" our names and personalities

Any good stories behind them?

Not for me, its just the team I'm on for the Hunting Competition. But since you asked about it, whats the story behind yours?

dec.20 I get in the stand 25 mins or so before first light it's cold but managable. Slowly as dark turns to light I expect to see a deer already on the lane i'm hunting( there was a three point out there at this time on the 19 th ) but no deer showed this mornin...time passes slowly but I'm in a prime spot so I know any second a deer and possibly even a shooter buck could walk out 7:00 am rolls around (40 mins or so after daylight) and still nothing not a thing so I'm beginning to think well it's not going to be a good morning.... 7:07 a doe steps out on the lane to my right ands as I start putting the gun in the window to have a look she freezes so I froze too. I think surley she sees me and is about to take off. She comes to motion and quickly trots across the lane into the woods and before I could asses wat I did wrong a monster buck hops out trailing her I mean nearly as wide as a 55 gallon grum and bases as big as my wrist but he's gone before I could move the rifle. At this point I'm thinking well there went my opportunity at a nice buck this year. But thinking ahead I put the rifle in the window to the left where the buck walked out and held on that area thinking maybe he would chase the doe back across but every few seconds I turn to look the opposite direction just in case about 7:10 or so I look back and a buck is standing 70 yards away out the opposite window I quickly pull my gun out and turn to the other window and "thump" I hit the inside on the shooting box with my rifle but the buck didn't seem to notice I get the scope on him lefthanded and begin to check his rack. I see lots of mass but is this just a young buck with a 10 inch spread? He looked my direction and I quickly realized he was well over 10 inch spread as his rack was outside the ears no sooner than I decided that I had the crosshairs behind the shoulder and wasting no more time u quickly but carefully squeezed a shot out of my 270 into his lungs. The buck rushed off the lane. I got out and wlked down to look for blood I see hair but no blood I follow his tracks a few yards and blood is everywhere I text my brother ( I'm hunting his 162 acre lease ) who is sitting about 200 yards away in a swamp and all I could say is "he's big" my brother gets to my spot as I get about 30 yards up the bloodtrail and says did u hit him good and I said yes lots of bubbly blood so I took his lungs for sure and my brother urges me to back out and we will go get the golf cart and allow him more time just incase. We get back and it takes all of 2 or 3 mins to find my buck as he was just about 40 yards from the last blood I found and 70 yards total from the shot . My brother was as thrilled as u was. Turned out it was a 200 + pound 9 point and although he wasn't as large as the first buck I saw minutes before he still exceeded my expectations.

Mine is simple: I'm a moderator and I linger in the shadows waiting for rule breakers
