underage problem

Default underage problem

hey i want to start huntin , but noone in my family does. i am 17 can i hunt on my own or do i need some kind of ' adult supervision' ?

As far as i know you can hunt on your own. I guess it would depend on the state laws.

You have to be 18 to carry a rifle legally. 21 to carry a pistol.

Most law enforcement doesn' t care if you are carrying a rifle or shotgun as long as you' re hunting with it though. 18 and 21 may be state laws, not sure.

You can hunt by yourself as long as you can drive to get places here in Arkansas. Since you' ve never hunted before, I would suggest finding someone who does, and tagging along with them for awhile until you get the jist of it all.

May be the better safer way to do it at first...then I would trot myself on out in the woods...

It depends on the state laws. In Virginia you have to be 16 to hunt by yourself.

It depends on the state.........I was out taking out rabbits when I was 10 with my .22! I was legal too!

Here you must be 18. My friend, who is 17, got ticketed for hunting on his own and they took his rifle. His parents had to go pick it up.

Thanks for help everybody, i had my first hunt in USA , it was great ive got a really nice hog (thirst kill with a bow). and i was acompanied by an outfitter.

Just make a quick call to the Florida game and fish. They will tell you real quick. I think it is 16 in Florida but it' s been a while.

Here in MN you have to be 14, but you can' t own a gun till you' re 18.
