I just bought a Honda 400EX (as in not even two weeks) I love it, its plenty fast, has more than enough power, and I don't have to worry about balance as much. But really it all depends on your purpose.

What do YOU want to do? Are you a trail rider? Do you like to jump? Do you like mud? DO you like hill climbs? Also what state do you live in? All those things would affect your decision. Let us know!

As everyone above said; whatever you like to do the most. I personally, think quads are more suited for hunting/fishing as well as just for fun. Now if you just want to go out, ride around and such, dirtbike is better.

I trail ride, but i'm considering racing a few weekends sometime. I live in WV and it's nice to just take a quad out to the lakes and go fishin, but i like the manueverability of dirtbikes. If you wreck a quad, it's usually going to roll down the hill and do a ton of damage, but if you wreck a bike, it flops over and you just hop back on and keep riding. I am selling my XR 80, cuz i'm way too big for it, and i have two quads, a fourtrax 300 and 250, but they're all at my farm. and i want somethin for the house. Thanks

i would get a quad but instead of 400ex i would go with the yamaha YFZ450 or if your looking for hunting/trail riding go with the Polaris Sportsman 700

I'm a Honda guy...
We've had both of our quads for almost 30 years and they run great, so i'm buying Honda.
