Honda is definitely a smart choice. And as for the 400EX mine has fairly good handling for a fourwheeler makes corners real well and is very trail friendly. It rides really smooth, and isn't uncomfortable to be on for a long time period. The only thing I don't like is that the head light is not mounted to the handle bars, it looks better the way it is mounted, but when I went night riding it was sometimes difficult to see what was around a corner until the back end slid around on tight corners, other than those instances it wasn't too bad at all. It's also not too loud, so you can hear other people talking when your helmet is on and the fourwheelers are running.

if you've got the money buy the KFX 450, if not buy the older kfx 400.
