Never seen a diesel that revved higher than a gasser myself.....And I own 'em all from 3/4 ton pickups, to 1/2 ton gassers, to 3/4 ton gassers, to one ton gassers, to two semis with Cummins in them......

Diesels typically don't have the power that gassers make, but they make up for it in torque. ;)

I like both....diesel or gas. The diesels can get better mileage and sound great if you get a slightly older one, and hold their resale well, but thats why I cant get one. I have experience with my Dads 2500 HD though that has the 8.1 Vortec Gas motor in her. I love this truck, a straight black with chrome accents, and will pull the wheels off of a trailer. The truck is also matched with the Allison tranny. I wont drive a Dodge unless it is a Cumins, and I hate a powerstroke, bad track record.

We also put the chip in the 8.1 and got a 4 mpg boost, from 11 to 15 which is what our old 1500 got.[&:]

ford is complete junk end of discussion. my dad got a brand new from the dealership 2008 ford taurus (the new looking taruses) for his company car and we have had it for maybe 2 years. so far the power steering has gone out (when 90% of the driving that is done with it is highway!!![:@]) the tranny messed up big time and the dealership is charging my dads company 1600 for it to be fixed. also the seals on the doors are falling out. we cant wait to get rid of this now. we were gonna buy it this summer when its time with the comopany is up but not anymore. im really sold now that ford sucks big time

Evan, so since one Ford CAR that your family has had, you're gonna call them junk? Let's be fair here. I also think it's funny that a lot of you probably don't have (or ever have even driven for that matter) a truck, that you are saying is the best here. It's kind of like whena politics thread comes up here, people get their panties in a wad, and yet most of the people arguing can't even vote. Come on:eek:
