Wrong! Girlfriends have peripheral influence when it comes to the guy we perceive as the right guy. It's nice if our friends and parents approve of the guy, but we don't base our decisions on their opinions, no matter how well-meaning they are.
Our focus is pretty much completely on the guy and he wins or loses based on our assessment of him as a possible mate. If you're looking for female companionship, focus on girls who more or less match you in terms of maturity. There is a reason why, in most marriages, the guy is a couple years older than the girl. So if you're 16, and seriously want a girlfreind, troll among the 14-year olds. The 16-year old girls are focusing on the 18-year old dudes.
