opening day of upland season
i did get a chance to hunt for an hour when i got done working today for our season opener. Abbi pointed solidly on two partridge in about 40 minutes of pounding the brush. not bad for our area. the leaves are still too much to get any kind of a shot off. she did how ever lock up on this guy. i did finally let her flush him out where could get a shot.(my finger was gettin itchy).who knew a rabbit would hold for a pointing dog lol

Our season opened on the 13th, i got out on the 20th and got 2 grouse, and we saw sevral more. It was a pretty good little walk for our area, especially with us using out 6 month old dog. he did real good for his first time out, got the idea real good, he's gonna be a great hunting dog.

thanks guys. its stll a little warm here and the leaves are really hangin on. probably could have grouund swatted a couple ruffys but thats no fun and it messes up the dog. dont think im gonna get to hunt till next week[:@]. i have a foundation i need to get finished up, im gonna try to pour today and strip sat morning and then im done w/ foundations for the year! time to start building a couple houses now. when its time to hunt i can pretty much drop my tools, brush myself off and go! lol
