RE: turtles
I had a turtle for a little while but I gave him to my little cousin. I realized that there's a huge chance that it'll outlive me, and definetly outgrow any enclosure I could put it in. Most turtles need an outside enclosure during the summer to maintain proper health. If its aquatic thats even more of a hassle. I live in an apartment so its pretty tough to have anything that'll need a large tank. Also, they need to eat every day and since I pull shift work I'm not home every day.
Sooooo.... a Ball Python was more my speed. He's a baby, but he'll grow to be about 5-6 feet in length. Eats once per week, frozen mice (I don't feed live since he was captive bred and doesn't hunt very well. The mice have a huge chance of harming him. Plus frozen eaters tend to be less-aggressive snakes).

RE: turtles
I do just fine with everything except tarantulas and millipedes. Regular spiders are ok, but snakes and bats are my favorites. I had a pet praying mantis a few years ago, those things are great.
Siman, I used to have a baby snapping turtle. They're so cute when they're little, we used to feed him raw hamburger and feeder fish. He's in myat my uncle's nowand eats raw chicken and fish. They grow soooo sllloooooowly.
