I had a turtle for a little while but I gave him to my little cousin. I realized that there's a huge chance that it'll outlive me, and definetly outgrow any enclosure I could put it in. Most turtles need an outside enclosure during the summer to maintain proper health. If its aquatic thats even more of a hassle. I live in an apartment so its pretty tough to have anything that'll need a large tank. Also, they need to eat every day and since I pull shift work I'm not home every day.
Sooooo.... a Ball Python was more my speed. He's a baby, but he'll grow to be about 5-6 feet in length. Eats once per week, frozen mice (I don't feed live since he was captive bred and doesn't hunt very well. The mice have a huge chance of harming him. Plus frozen eaters tend to be less-aggressive snakes).
