Ive had my cameras out over mineral licks and got some good pics. Ive been doing a lot of fishing lately and have seen some bachelor groups out in the fields while doing so. Im going to start getting into it hard come late July/August.

Heres a few pics:

x2, i have to hunt public land this year as the person i hunted private with last year is taking his son with him since he'll be back from Iraq. [:@] I'm not angry that he's taking him, it's just that i learned very quickly where the deer were on the 56 acres we hunted on and i got to know it quite well in a week. Oh well thats why they call it hunting and not shooting

Meh...too hot down here to stomping through the woods scouting. Plus, I don't know where I'm going to be hunting next year either. The lease I was on folded, and since it's so hard to get on a lease down here, I doubt I will find one in time for season. I'm taking my bowhunter's safety course next weekend so I will be able to hunt federal reserves, though. Those areas have lots of deer and aren't pressured at all.

I hunted public land too. For the 1st time ever in my deer camp, no one shot a deer at all. That area has wolves in it, so they took a good piece of the population out. The night before the opener, me and my dad went to a bar. They have a deer feeder in back, with a window looking out. A small buck came out, and you could tell of nervous he was. Sometimes the deer know when hunting season is.

I'm not looking forward to hunting private land around here, it kinda sucks :-( If i can get the whole week or part of gun week off i might try to afford a motel and hunt down south in Wayne National Forest.
