Who enjoys fishing. I myself am not good at it anyone have any pointers on how to improve?
Plenty of tips from a tournament fisher (me) what are you looking to catch? Bass? Crappie? Catfish? Stripers? Brim?

edit : I just found a post I made the other day about this subject. Here is my techniques... Hard to explain over the net much easier to teach in real life.

I'm very big into BASS fishing I spent my entire signing bonus on a Tracker Elite boat and it was worth every pennny. For me it depends where I'm fishing and the vegitation under the water...

When the water is clear or not and thier is NO vegitation I use 3 baits... Watermelon colored Sinko's, Rebel Pop-r, and of course a spinner bait in the colors of White/green/sometimes red...

When the water is high in vegetation or rocky I go to the spinner baits and try different colors till I find the one that works. I love to hit spots with dead trees or debris with a pop-r or a spinner.

Believe me the Watermelon Sinko (rubber worm) catches the big daddy's and you will catch alot of fish with it, I use a sinker with it about 2 feet up the string so the sinko will float higher than the sinker and look more life like just give it a few tugs left to right up and down gently. Its hard to explain the way it works just try it out. Oh and slow rol is key with this...

The spinner bait is widely used because of the much of success but they aren't any fun just slow roll it.

THE Pop-r I love this bait and its my favorite it gets the fish almost every time if they are there. Put it close to some debris in the water and pop it just enough to make some tiny bubbles and a moderate speed of reeling it in. Pop it all the way back to you, after about 10 casts and they haven't hit it they simply aren't going to bite. I can almost guarntee this bait to work everytime if the fish is there in hiding they will come out of hiding if its even just to look at it....

When I stiper fish my favorite bait is a GOLD fish you can get at a pet store Buy about 30 of them about 2-4 inches long find a school of stripers and have a blast!

When I want a good fight I always chase carp and catfish... Oats and Peanut butter for the carp. Chicken livers for the catfish but then again catfish will bite anything I cought a 28llb blue cat on grape bubble gum so if hes hungry anything is his chow. I've also caught a 8llb channel cat on a rooster tail which is my bait for brim so I can catch cat fish with it. Funny how things work out. I've even seen people catch a catfish on a piece of a coca cola can. So I think they don't even taste the food they just bite it if they are hungry. If you fish near a place you can catch Helgramites (small insect looks like a centipede with pinchers) thats your best bet for a catfish.

Rule of thumb

Catfish - any bait just depends if hes hungry
Carp - Stinky pb+oats works well
Bass - disturbed water will set them on a path of destruction. (when I say disturbed I mean like disturbed water from your bait...
Stiper - Shiny stuff.
